I'm American, husband is British, married 2 1/2 yrs ago in US and we lived here together for 2 years - he was on H1B but since he intended to start a temporary job overseas, so we didn't apply for immigrant visa when he was here before. Now he has a work visa in New Zealand, and we are wondering what is the best option, K3 or CR1, to get him back to the US?

He already has SSN from being on student and H1B visas for many years, would this speed up the process of getting CR1?

I've been reading that since we were married in the US and he is now overseas, he would have to have his consular interview in the UK - is that true or can he have it in New Zealand?

We are very new to this, so any advice will be very appreciated!

K3 applicants who married in the US may have visa issued in country of residence.
