I really don't know that much about southern food. My mom grew up in Florida where they don't cook stuff like they do here. All my southern food knowledge I learned from my dad's mom. I never cook southern food. Too much grease and gunk.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

i like polenta, if grits is different i've never had it.

I make polenta, then i top it with chicken cooked in tomato sauce and then with cheese, put in the oven for the cheese to melt and voila. yummy.

polenta is more coarsely ground cornmeal than grits and I think grits are made from hominy or something
