I was just getting sushi and asked the lady what is in the spicy sauce for the spicy tuna tartare. I didn't want to eat anything *too* spicy. So I asked her what was in the spicy sauce and her reply was "spicy sauce". I said yeah what's in it? She said "just spicy sauce". OOOOKAY!

Well, it WAS spicy sauce after all

I really wanted to know if it had sriracha or as I so lovingly call it "c*ck sauce" in it...

I'm hoping living in a small town grows on me. Either that or get a job in the nearest city then have the best of both worlds.

i don't trade the peace and quiet i have here to live in a small town, no way in h!

The closest to a small town I've ever lived in was in Regina SK. About 100,000 peepz. Never again, no Sir.

I lived on a Gulf Island in B.C. with about 800 inhabitants, and more deer, eagles and ravens.

No commercial anything.

The scent of the cedars intoxicating. Mmmmmm....

It was heaven!

I hate living in a small town. I hate living in a small city. I went from Los Angeles, to London, to NYC, back to London, to Newcastle and then to Indiana :crying:

Suicide is not an option. Moving is

After living in Mexico city for almost 30 years; no place really impresses me. They are all cute little cities :luv:

And I hate little towns/cities. Not my cup of coffee.

I grew up here and I'm the only person in my entire family to ever move away. I can't wait to get out of here again and that's why I'm going to finish my undergrad as quick as possible. Then I'm off to med school somewhere where the lady can tell me what's in the spicy sauce :P

I don't know if I want to do the west coast again. I know Seattle is way different than SoCal but I dunno. Right now my top picks are Washington University in St Louis, Vanderbilt, NYU, and Columbia. IUPUI will be a safety school

I love small towns. I love Burien. I loved the small towns in Louisiana I lived in. I love the village in Germany Patrick's family lives in. But I enjoy being close to a city.

I love Seattle too.

Basically, the world is awesome.

Also, here's a fab recipe.

Caramelized Onion-Butternut Squash with Chestnuts Casserole:

Preheat 375 degrees.

1 lb onions, peeled and sliced thinly

1/3 cup olive oil

1 lb chestnuts frozen/jarred & prepeeled (I use a 200g jar or package)

1 med size butternut squash, peeled & cut into 1/2 inch chunks

1 (15 oz) can white beans (I used cannellini)

I also added a punnet of mushrooms, chopped

2 t thyme

1.5 tsp ground coriander

.5 tsp freshly grated nutmeg

1.5 tsp salt

pepper

1/2 cup veg broth

Crumb topping:

1/2 cup dry white bread crumbs

2 T olive oil

.5 tsp dried rubbed sage

pinch of ground cayenne

.5 tsp salt

pepper

Place onions and oil in 9 x 13 pan, toss to coat onions with oil. Bake 30 min (stir 3-4 times) until onions are browned and sizzling. Remove and set aside.

Drain chestnuts, coarsely chop, add to onions.

Add diced butternut squash and everything else underneath it in the list of ingredients. Stir it up. Cover and bake for 35 to 45 minutes.

Toss together crumb topping ingredients. Put on casserole. Cook for another 15 minutes uncovered. Let cool a bit before eating.
