Oh, I am so sorry. So, what happens now: do they keep the petition at Nairobi and let him bring the missing evidence once he gets it? That blond sounds horrible: how is that so many people seem to get her?

You know what's funny?? When she called Ben's name over the intercom, she sounded SO SWEET. Ha!

It sounds like he wasn't denied, and that once he provides his police certificate from Kenya, then he's good to go. Once they get that, they should issue the visa. Did she give him any kind of slip? She should have...and that slip will explain what he needs to do. That blonde woman is something else...ignore her nasty, snide comments, she does it to EVERYBODY...she was nasty to Ben, too. Just give them what they want so you can be done with them. They don't make it easy for anybody and will find the smallest thing to deny or put off giving someone a visa. I just don't understand why she feels the need to be so mean. It must be because "she can get away with it". It's really terrible. He shouldn't need another interview once he provides what they ask for.

Are you serious??? Oh my. You have no idea how amazing you are. I hope that's true. He was given a yellow sheet of paper with no numbers on it (it wasn't the official denial form, not the 220g or whatever.) It simply says: Your application is missing the following documents: then a check mark next to "police clearance" with "Kenya" handwritten in. (I've tried to attach it...)

It then says, "Your visa cannot be issued until you submit all of the evidence listed above." Then it explains how to send it via DHL to the consulate.

That's it. Seriously I am dying right now at even the THOUGHT that we might be ok. I had about packed my bags and was waiting to buy a ticket to Kenya and ready to gather notarized affidavits from everyone I know and letters from my Senator...I am praying you are right!!!! now that I look at the sheet where it says, "it cannot be issued until you submit all of the evidence listed above" it makes it sound like once we DO submit it, they WILL issue his visa. wow wow wow.

It sounds to me like you were definitely NOT denied, and that once you submit the police certificate, they will issue the visa. It wouldn't say "it cannot be issued until you submit all the evidence..." if it were outright denied. I think you are OK... :D:star: I think the woman just said that she "wasn't satisfied with your relationship" to add fuel to the fire and because she's simply a "crank pot" LOL. She said horrible things to Ben too, but she still granted him the visa. DHL that police certificate (make a copy of it before you send it) to them ASAP and I'm sure you will hear from them soon after. All the best to you with many blessings along the way.

No :( They didn't. They returned his birth certificate, his passport and a few pictures...they kept everything else. What does that mean??

Rasta - there was no check mark, but he was verbally told to DHL (not hand deliver) the documents. Good luck with you, too!

iam going to try to call the dhl number they provided, but my fiance had no luck , we are still waiting for them to schedule the dna. i have paid for the dna but they are delaying my case. i guess they thought i would take a long time to get the dna done since its expensive. so wicked these people. please let me know if you were able to get thru to dhl . i also contacted my congressman about the dna, and the state dept told him there is no way they are scheduling dna this month , so i sent my congressman the email they sent me saying they are scheduling this month, we shall see

Do you need the DHL number to track it, or to mail it? If you need it to mail it, you can log into the website and print the DHL sheet to send it to them. http://usvisa-info.com/en-KE/selfservice/us_fee_payment_options

I haven't tried to contact them about the DHL yet because I was just planning to submit it in the mail using the information we were given on the sheet about downloading the DHL form from the website.

I was hoping they kept his passport because that's a good sign - meaning that they'll issue the visa once they get what they asked for. Anything is possible with this Embassy...I am hoping that once they receive the police certificate, they will issue the visa. I wouldn't think he would need another interview, but all of this is just my opinion based on what I know about this Embassy - they can be very unpredictable. They also could put the case into Administrative Review which means you'll have to wait for that to be complete and then they'll issue it. I would send them an email and ask them once you submit the police certificate what will the next step be. Did the Consular Officer explain to him what would happen after they receive the certificate? It doesn't seem to me he was denied, honestly, but again this is just my opinion. I did that after Ben's interview because we never received the DHL information and they did respond. Ben had to go back again to the Embassy to have his fingerprints retaken and then they said he could come pick up his passport two days later and we never ended up having to use DHL. The Consular Officer that he saw the second time was REALLY nice and apologized that Ben had to come back again for the fingerprints and apologized for the inconvenience. Send them an email and kindly ask them for an update. That's what I would do if it were me. Keep us posted and I will pray for you. Lots of love.

It is a very, very tough embassy...and yes, it can be such a cruel process. I am shaking my head as I don't understand why they are that way. I mean I understand they need to protect the U.S., but being outright cruel, that I can't get my head around. Keep on them and don't give up. I'm sorry you're having such a tough time.

When I was at the interview with my husband, every one of the 6 applicant before us were denied, except for one that was given the sheet for missing evidence. I think it was for missing a copy of some document, so on the sheet it told them to come back two days later. In other words their interview was rescheduled at that moment. Your case seems similar. He clearly was not denied or they would not be requesting the certificate, which makes me think that it will be rescheduled (however they will not repeat the entire interrogation) once he gets it sent back in. They probably couldn't give you an exact date to come back because the time it takes to get the certificate can vary greatly. I think you will be just fine!! As Jill said, emails work well to get a little info, so maybe a quick message asking to confirm that his case will be reviewed again once the certificate is submitted will work to ease your mind :) Hope it all works out. Best of luck!!

Good idea about the email! I did write them on Friday and hope to hear back after the weekend. I think you're right, that will hopefully give us a sense of what happens next. The Consular Officer really brushed him off about what happens next, she just said, "I can do nothing with you until you have that paper. Mail it in do not bring it and we will contact you."

It's nice to here there are some decent people at the Consulate there!!!

Thank you for the prayers, we are so grateful for them. I'll keep our status updated!!!

That would be soooo awesome if they didn't repeat the entire interrogation...and I hope you're right (and it makes sense) that they can't give an exact date due to how long it might take to get the police certificate.

Thank you for your advice...every bit helps!!!
