Not sure why she receive 2. We only receive 1 seal and another unsealed with chest zrays. He kept his chest xray. Are they both mark with do not open? If so I suggest you keep them both seal and your fiance will give them to the immigration officer at the airport at your POE.

Yeah, one could be the x-ray, which they tell you to hand carry on the plane but you will never need it again. Anyway, she'll give the envelope when she goes through passport control/customs when landing in the US.

We have been waiting for NVC to schedule an interview date since april 18. They say that they have to receive openings from the embassy in KEnya. I have no idea what is taking so long. Everyone else is getting their dates. :crying: What is going on with the embassy, please schedule us.

Have you received an email from the US embassy in Nairobi stating they have your case? It was this email that allowed us to use the new internet based system to schedule our own interview. The NVC only forwards your case to the embassy, they don't do the scheduling in Nairobi. If you haven't received an email, you should call or email the embassy to make sure they have your case. This website will give you more information on the new process: http://nairobi.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas.html and I would recommend using this email: ImmigrationVisaNairobi@state.gov to contact the embassy, they respond pretty quickly.

Hope that helps! Good Luck!

Thank you for the information but when i contact NVC they tell me that they are waiting on the embassy and when I did contact the embassy they said that NVC has to schedule them. I am contacting both today asking to speak to someone that will tell me something. Does the embassy schedule Spouse visas?

Is the spouse visa a K-2 visa?

Is the spouse visa a K-2 visa?

No it's the CR-1/IR-1. I think that NVC schedules spouse visas which is probably where the hold up is...K-1 you can just schedule yourself.

(FYI, K-2 is for dependant children of K-1 visa holders.)

Hakuna shida :) I think it's weird that there are different processes anyway, but that's just the way it is I guess!

Hi everyone. I just wanted to let you know that Ben had his interview yesterday and he passed!!!  WE ARE SO HAPPY TO BE THROUGH IT!! I will post a complete review when I can, but will provide a little insight here...I'm still in Kenya. I've been here for a month as when I arrived, we were able to get the interview scheduled so I stayed. We dropped off our paperwork on May 25th at 1:00 p.m., and were told to come back the 26th at 6:30 a.m. We arrived around 5:50 a.m., and there was about 16 people in line already. I was able to make it all the way into the Consulate area, but then was told I had to wait outside, but honestly, I was surprised I made it as far as I did. The security guards are very nice, however, the Consulate area is NOT. Ben was done by 9 a.m. He was interviewed by the blonde woman at Window 10, and WOW - he said she was "something else". She asked the following questions:

1. How did you meet?

2. When did you meet?

3. Tell me about this woman, your Fiancee, what are her hobbies? What does she like?

4. Why did you write so many handwritten letters?? NO ONE writes letters anymore...everyone sends emails (WOW :wow: :wow: :wow: REALLY???).

5. Are you staying together now?

She issued the visa and we thank God from our hearts. I will post more later when I can. Thanking everyone who has helped us along the way. Thanking this website as well. It really is extremely resourceful.
