Hi helpful people finally my package is in Nairobi now, I have question for affidavit of support. I don't have W2 form or tax transcript the only thing I have is pay stubs and letter shows the day I start the job and how much I earn I became fulltime employee earlier this year. Does the consular accept pay stubs as proof?

Hi LNK,

I had my interview yesterday at the Embassy and it went well. They will not allow you to pick up any package. Just go online and download what they have on there its the same stuff they have in the package anyway. I had issues calling them and trying to get an appointment to go pick up my package but I was told that they do not allow that nowadays and to go online and download the forms from there. When they told me that they had the electronic file and not the actual they were yet to get it from NVC I was advised to download the forms and get started on them and also do medical and as soon as I receive the medical report to call and get the interview date. I did that and my interview went really well. So get online and download the forms and also if you know your case number go to IOM 4th Ngong avenue and schedule for your medical and you'll be just fine.

Hi Mbete, Congrats on your interview yesterday. I have the forms and everything else i need. I also had to cancel my appointment with IOM for yesterday coz the embassy insist that i have to get the package. I also know my case number and im just confused. Should i book for my medical right away? Tell me also what else i need to do so that i can get an appointment. Does it take long? Should i do medical, get ready with everything else and book the appointment. Also let me know how long it took u to get the appointment. Im just going crazy here not knowing what to do coz the embassy they still insist i wait on the package. But i have spoken to different people and one of them advised me to fill the forms and book an interview appointment. Let me know how u did this and how long it took. Thanks and be blessed.

I brought 6 mos of pay stubs, my employment verification letter and my tax return for 2008 (this was in Jan 2009) - all the CO cared about was the pay stubs & the employment letter, but if you made sufficient income and filed taxes for the last 3 years you may as well go ahead & get the transcripts - you'll need them for AOS and can use them again.

The IOM only needs for you to have the case number to book the medical then pick up the results the following day if your results are good. When I called the Embassy and confirmed that they had my electronic file, I went ahead downloaded the forms and filled them out and then booked the medical. The day I was doing the medical, I called them in the afternoon and got an interview date with them which was basically scheduled a week from that day. They told me that they advise people to just download the package from the since the Kenyan mail system is crazy and the package can very easily get lost in the mail. The Embassy will only give the interview date if you confirm with them that you have everything done including the medical.

Oh my, it seems some things have changed since we were at the Embassy! When I was there we were able to schedule the interview without the medical and pick up the package at the Embassy! Oh well, I guess I am getting old on this forum now, I'll let the newer people give the information about the embassy/medical so as not to spread false information! :) Good luck!

LNK2000,

Congrats on scheduling your appointments. I was just curious to know how long of a wait you had between scheduling and the actual appointment dates for both the medical exam and visa interview. I am waiting for my NOA2 right now and will also be dealing with the Nairobi Embassy. Just trying to figure out how much time to allow for travel plans to be there for my fiance when he goes. Any updated info would be wonderful and so appreciated. GOOD LUCK with everything! :)

Hi Annie, it only took three weeks between the time i did my medical and the interview. You can schedule your medical immediately you confirm that the Nairobi Embassy have your electronic file. I scheduled my interview date a day before my medical appointment. Wish you all the best in this journey.
