Just tell me, how long im i supposed to wait until my physical file arrives at the Nairobi embassy. They keep telling me that they only have the electronic file, they made me cancel the medical appointment. And they say i have to wait for them to send me the package in a week's time. Is this a delaying tactic? Please advice me on what to do coz im now confused en times. Thanks.

My (now) husband DID receive packet 3 in the mail and so did another acquaintance of ours who just got NOA2 and is waiting for an interview. I would wait a week and if you still haven't gotten anything call again to see if they have received the file. I don't think it's a delaying tactic.

I know it's hard to have patience in this process :)

As for proof of relationship, we were only asked for pictures of the two of us together (we gave the interviewing officer maybe 8-10 photos) but we also had Skype records printed out, a selection of emails between the two of us, physical letters/cards we had sent each other and statements from my parents and a few other mutual friends just saying they knew both of us & were aware of and supportive of our relationship. I went to the interview with Sifa so that was probably our biggest proof of relationship.

We got asked how we met, what Sifa wants to do when he moved to the US and what work he was doing in Kenya. Then he asked to see the pictures, then he said we were approved. The interview itself took MAYBE 10 minutes, probably less than that.

Thanks for the advice. I will not take anything for granted and will prepare well. Im patient and will wait because good things come upon those who wait. What im wondering is about the validity of the petition coz its up to sometime in October. I just pray and hope that my interview will come soon. Will keep updating. Thanks so much and God bless u too.

You'll have your interview before October, don't worry. The embassy can (and will) extend the validity of the petition as well, if for some reason you have to postpone it (like HI-UG for the medical...to which I never said pole sana for the delay in your process! Hopefully it will be just a minor bump in the road and everything will go smoothly after this!) Don't worry about that date on the NOA2.

You got the package huh? Wow! Ok, well maybe it's different if they have to mail it to Uganda! :) When we went to the interview (I also accompanied my fiance to the embassy) --I prepared a folder full of examples of our skype conversations, phone calls and e-mails. I also provided photos and made a little photo album of us together. The guy that interviewed us didn't even GLANCE at the folder but he did look briefly at the photo album and complemented us on them.

Hi Link! Actually I meant Katie and Sifa. I hope you get your package soon! If you are near Nairobi, I recommend you go and get the packet yourself. It will probably be a lot faster! Good luck! :)

Hi LNK,

I had my interview yesterday at the Embassy and it went well. They will not allow you to pick up any package. Just go online and download what they have on there its the same stuff they have in the package anyway. I had issues calling them and trying to get an appointment to go pick up my package but I was told that they do not allow that nowadays and to go online and download the forms from there. When they told me that they had the electronic file and not the actual they were yet to get it from NVC I was advised to download the forms and get started on them and also do medical and as soon as I receive the medical report to call and get the interview date. I did that and my interview went really well. So get online and download the forms and also if you know your case number go to IOM 4th Ngong avenue and schedule for your medical and you'll be just fine.
