Ugh..

At our interview in Montreal - over 3 weeks ago- our interviewee advised us that the medical as so processed by the doctor in Ottawa, was incomplete...and she advised that the "official translation" of the divorce papers was not "official" enough.........

So, for another $500.00 I had it translated again by "certified translator" and for another $170.00 we had the Medical "completed".....and sent everything to the consulate 1 week ago..

I couldn't wait any more- I sent an email to the Consulate and received a note advising that the “review should take another week" ...

I sent the divorce decree way back with my original paperwork - why did no one else have an issue with the paperwork?!

And the medical was not complete because the doctor didn't fill in all the specifics for my loves bout with cancer - 10 years ago- and then the doctor has the gall to charge again for the follow up visit?!

I am fed up and upset ..We’re so close and yet everything seems so far away.

My wedding is planned for December 6th...yes, I know it was silly to plan without papers in hand, but these issues were not due to anything "we" did or didn't do- they were caused by the inefficiency of the doctor and translator...

I'm sure all will be resolved but today I am sick and tired of the whole process...

Hi Kate,

I can sure understand your frustration - because of others incompetence you end up having to go through all this additional hassle and expense and stress.

All I can say is hang in there - you are almost finished with this and soon this will just be a blah memory and you guys will be together!

The reason it is probably taking so long to finalize is that the consulate person has to go back and rubber stamp it and sometimes that can take a while.

Hope they get it out to you very soon!

I'm so sorry, kate13.

I swear this process is meant to test how much we really want to marry our fiances. I've seemed to have minor setbacks at every stage too.

You're right though. It'll all work out eventually. I hope everything gets resoved for you sooner rather than later.

~ Catherine

Vent away! Actually we have a Vent thread...in case you have reason to vent in the future. ;) So sorry kate you're getting the run around. Won't be long now, but SUCH an annoyance while in the duration!
