I took the plunge yesterday and went to the DMV to get my car registered in Hawaii.

We don't have car title in Alberta (just registration) - so there was a slight communication problem between the County Clerk and myself. She was trying to figure out how we could own a vehicle in Alberta without having a title (ie: how can I let you register a car in HI, when you don't have a title). After an hour, she got it all figured out and $102 later, I walked out with two Aloha plates for the car.

All I needed was: a completed safety inspection, valid HI insurance (no fault), the bill of lading for my car, my old registration and an Alberta Personal Property Security Registry search showing no lien holders on the title.

Just need to get working on changing over my drivers license.

Things are slowly coming together. :D

Ah, you live in Hawaii. My jaw is dropping on the floor just with that.

And pretty plates lol! ;-)

AOS Approved on 10-17-08 (details in profile)

Removal of Conditions on 07-19-10

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.
