Hi All,

Well i had my interview & medical last Monday - the Consular officer said that she would grant my immigrant visa, depending on the medical - i had the medical, as far as I know everything checked out fine... BUT

I've just got home from work, and the embassy have sent me a letter saying they need me back for another interview Novemeber 13th???? I'm really worried now - what could the problem be? Has anyone else come across this?

The only thing i can think of, is that they never asked me to sign the decleration at the bottom of the DS-2032 part 2 (the bit they tell you not to fill in till you're in front of them)... If they denied the visa, surely they would write & tell me this instead of dragging me down to london again??

Can anyone help????? Please???

If you definitely didn't sign the DS-230 Part 2, that is almost definitely the problem as that has to be done in front of them. That is crazy that they let it slip on the interview day and also that they don't explain it in the letter. If I were you, I would spend the money on calling the embassy helpline to find out. You call and ask for the code to put in the email subject line - they tend to not actually answer questions over the phone, which is also crazy. Good luck sorting it out! :)

To reassure you a bit - since it sounds like there were no problems on the day of the interview, and if you have no dangerous medical problems or history of illegal drug use, it really shouldn't be anything that isn't fairly easily overcome. :)

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

To be honest i found the whole experience pretty nerve-wracking... but most of that was my fault.. my wife is back in TX, she's due our 1st baby middle of january, i'm here trying to sell the house (just found out the prospective buyer fell through yesterday!),..... then this.

I remember explicitly afterwards that they never asked me to sign anything - other than the form for the courier to send my passport etc back ( I remember this as i could hardly write my own name!)... i just thought that they must've changed the rules for this form or something. I also remember that once she'd said everything was fine, they couldnt find the sticker to put on the application form or passport (the adhesive backed sticker/number they give you on entry to the embassy) .. and then she cheery-ly waved me off saying everything was OK...

I called Knightsbridge doctors last thursday to aske about my results and they said everything was "perfect" (in their words)... and they were sending the results over to the embassy that day.. so i guess they got them friday... my file must've been sat in a "pending medical" tray till monday... someone then checked everything before printing the visa.. and then they realised their mistake? I suppose im just thinking out loud there...!

Am going to call the doctors tomorrow to make sure everything's ok - will keep this thread updated of course..

Incidentally - if this IS the case... and they DID forget to ask me to sign ... where would i stand with the extra expense? I've just had to book another day off work.. and another return ticket to london on the train.. so am out of pocket by about £150.. would it be worth mentioning any of that (AFTER THEY'VE ISSUED THE VISA OF COURSE!! :)

Oh dear, sounds like things are very hectic! At least it's almost all settled though. :)

In an ideal world, it would be worth mentioning. They certainly won't do a single thing about the extra expense though - I would be highly surprised if someone even apologized actually! I've been on these forums for a while now, and I have never heard of a single instance of someone getting any money back even when the embassy or USCIS admitted it was their fault, like the poor girl whose packet was lost between point of entry and adjustment of status and has to pay for the medical again.

Thank you again, from the very bottom of my heart!!

I called the "info" line just before 9pm - wow they really are terrible aren't they?? I don't think she could have sounded more bored if she'd have tried, honestly.... Think Little Britain and the "computer says no" character and you'll get the general idea....

Anyway, she gave me the email address & subject header, so i've fired off an email asking why they've requested the 2nd interview - and i also mentioned the DS-230 not being signed (not 2032 as I mentioned in my earlier post - which incidentally the "helpful" woman didn't pick up on so obviously wasn't listening)..

But like i said - i'll keep this thread updated if/when i get a reply from my email.. and of course once i've had my 2nd interview (which will hopefully just involve me signing a bit of paper & then having an afternoon in london sightseeing and drinking a well earned pint :)

Good luck to everyone else going thru this process... i really mean that.

TX.
