I'M AN IDIOT!

Ok.....so I have my interview date for my K-1Visa application in london. I knew it needed payed for but didn't realize there was a time limit....as long as it was done by my interview I figured that was fine. I went to the bank today(june 1st) to pay the £63.00 and only once the cashier pointed it out to me did I notice the "Valid Until" date on the pay slip.....May 31st. YESTERDAY! *sigh* They said they didn't have a problem with putting it through anyway but I should check that it'd be ok at the Embassy end of things.

I went home and tried to contact the embassy...over and over again but couldn't get in contact with anyone. I ended up saying "screw it" and headed back to the bank. I payed my money and got them to put it through(I figure it's worth the risk of losing £63.00).

I got home and started trying to get in contact with the embassy again. Finally I got through but the woman on the other end wasn't very helpful and just told me to email the embassy direct. So I did. I got an email back saying that they are averaging between 3/4 days to reply to emails. So here's the thing, if they email me back saying "thats fine, no worries" then great. If however they email me back saying "no deal" I need to phone the embassy AGAIN and get them to send me a new pay slip. I then need to take it back to the bank and pay for a second time....but I'm meant to leave for London on Sunday 11th of June and my interview is on the Monday....I'M RUNNING OUT OF TIME!!

This was as much a rant at my own stupidity for leaving it so long but any help, advice or general soothing of my tortured mind would be greatly appreciated.

OH MY GOD! I did the exact same thing this morning! I went to pay it and saw it had May 31st written on it .... I called the embassy, got through straight away, and was informed that i should just arrive at the embassy earlier on the day of my interview and ask the guards for a new payment slip, got to the bank and pay it, and return to the embassy for my interview...so that is what i have been told. I went to the bank anyway and asked them what they thought, he told me not to rick paying it in case the expiry date was on it for a reason, so i didnt pay it.

I hope that i've helped you in so way. Its silly there is no information anywhere about what to do to get a new slip or such, and i had no idea there was a time limit in paying the visa application fees!! Ugh!! My interview is on June 9th, so im just going to do what she said and turn up early and get a new slip, then go pay it straight away and head back.... good luck to you for your interview, glad im not the only one who made this mistake!! What a coincidence!!!

Thanks beth...oh well....thats £63.00 I'll never see again! I emailed the embassy yesterday and I'm still waiting on there reply but hopefully they'll just give me the same advice as you. Good luck with your interview, hope it all goes well!

P.S. If there are problems with the pay slip could you come back after your interview and let me know - give me a "heads up" if you like. I'd appreciate it, but I hope it all goes well...good luck!
