Waiting for interview date or have been assigned an interview date

Hello all!

I just want to ask if anyone has been recently given an interview date or who is currently waiting for an interview date especially those in Manila..how long did you wait for the interview date after the NVC closes your case? Is there anyone out there who is also in the same situation as I am in right now...waiting for case to be closed? I just want to check the timeline from closure of case to interview date and then to receiving a visa. I already submitted my resignation from work yesterday and I really don't know if this was a good move. My husband and I were thinking that i could get in the US by January...will this be possible? I'm still waiting for my case to be closed at NVC. Did I underestimate the timeline? This is killing me!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks!

Best regards,

Ynatots

im not sure about this, but i guess since you are CR1, the NVC would be the one who will give you the interview date, and they can only give you that if they have an available shot already. hope u get it soon, dont worry, waiting is worth after all. good luck.

For CR1/IR1, it is the NVC that sets the schedule for the interview. Our petition was approved in the first week of May 2008 and had completed all the requirements in June 2008. I was informed of the interview schedule sometime in August and had my interview on September 22 and got the visa October 24. It takes a while so if you could, work until you have got the visa.

after NVC completes your case, they will be the one to assign the interview date based on the USEM availability schedule for interviews. it took like 3 days after case complete for them to assign my husband an interview date for the next month.. but it's a case to case basis.. some get an interview date right away, others have had to wait weeks...

hope this helps!

I-130 Timeline:

5/13 : NOA1

7/21 : NOA2 - APPROVED!!!

NVC Timeline:

7/25 : Case # assigned

9/30 : Case completed!!!! (THANK YOU, LORD!!!)

10/03: Interview date assigned

US Embassy in Manila:

10/30 : Paid Document Verification (just to be on the safe side)

11/12 - 11/13 : Medical at SLEC

11/18: INTERVIEW DATE/MANILA EMBASSY/0630AM - VISA APPROVED!

11/20 : Visa in hand! (that was fast!)

11/30 : Flight to USA!

Life in America:

11/30 : POE:LAX

12/04 : SSN issued - 12/13: card received in the mail

12/04 : "Green Card" issued - 12/13: card received in the mail

NOVEMBER 30, 2010 : CR1 expires

Thanks thirdsjen! Just found out that we got an RFE in our I-864. But my hubby returned the corrected forum today as well. So hopefully by next week our case is already completed. But I really pray for a December interview!!! I want to spend my birthday with hubby in the states. This is really frustrating. Please please pray for us. And good luck with your interview as well.

Best regards,

My hubby got his interview date one week after getting packet 3.... He's applying for a CR-1 visa in manila. What I did was call the call center number while I was in manila before my flight to go back to the states and asked them if his case was eligible for theed interview... Then they said yes and then scheduled my hubby right away.

It really depends if you will receive your visa in just a matter of days, others waits for months now...

I hope you won't have too much trouble. Good luck with your upcoming interview.

Hi Sasha414!

When exactly is your interview date? We are hoping that our case be closed by next week since we already submitted the rfe and it was entered into their system today. I really pray for a December interview! I wonder how many slots are left here in USEM Manila.

Best regards,

Ynatots

Check out our timeline. We finished at NVC in about a month, and we got an interview sched within 2 days from completion. It did not reflect on the USEM site till Nov 6 when they got the packet sent from NVC.

You may want to call NVC everyday to follow up on your case..at least that's what my husband did :)

Good luck to us all !
