We should have a St. Louis area party on Election Day 2012 for all the newbie voters on here! Carla is our party planner.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I don't live in a highly populated precinct and it took about 25 minutes to get through the line. According to the voting scantron, I was voter 270 in my precinct at 8:30am.

LONG line at the middle school which made dropping the kids off a real treat, but when I went to where I vote there wasn't really a line at all. BTW no one got asked to see their license or any other proof of id. Small town and I stick out like a sore thumb since I wear hijab but still, these little old ladies at the polls can't know EVERYONE can they?

They certainly don't make it easy to vote, we had to vote at the school, parking lot is jammed anyway, why can't they call school off? Fortunately, the National Guard was moved next to our airport leaving the old armory building empty next to a park just a few years back, city purchased that and is now using that for voting, and it does have somewhat of a parking lot. Ironically, this armory is located on a street loaded with no parking signs, think they would make an exception for one day every four years.

Our polls open at 7:00 AM and close at 8:00PM, but state laws require them to stay open until everyone in line gets a chance to vote. Really bad in the larger cities. We did have to monitors, but they were just standing in the hallway looking bored. We were with neighbors and chatted in line, was peaceful.

Are there powers above that do not want us to vote?

Briget,

Old people tends to forget. This makes it ever more so unfitting for them moderate the voting process. A solution would be a name list, and a verification of valid state ID. There is something wrong. Not with you because people already know who you are, but, those who barely gets out of the house. I'd suggest to them, "To Kill A Mockingbird."

I reside in Obama's district. At 6AM there were more media people than voters. It is on the street behind mine so parking was a bit of an issue last night since they prohibited most parking in the area. As for my vote... it went out a couple of weeks ago to my actual state of legal residence.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I didn't wait at all. I voted at 7:20am. No one was there. Walked in, voted for some Democrats, some Republicans, and one Libertarian. Walked out, and almost got run over by two completely packed 12-seat vans full of voters.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.
