I arrived at my polling place at 6:20 this morning and was number 61 in line. By the time the polls opened at 7:00, there were at least 120 voters lined up inside and more waiting outside. I finished voting at 7:55. Everyone was calm and patient.

This was an exciting but nervous day for my wife, been a USC for two months and one day. I did check the WI voting database, and she was on the list, they found her name and mine as well.

We were debating whether to wait as the line looked very long this morning and she had to be a work, we got there at 7:10 and left at 7:27 so the line did move very quickly, she had to be at work by 7:50, but only a three minute drive. The parking lot was jammed, but a guy pulled out when I pulled in right in front of the door. Wife is concerned about this country, now that it is her home. But right or wrong, she did have her small say, told her she can always complain to her senator, congressman, or even the new president, too bad, more people do not do that.

Congratulations to your wife on her first election.

Hope my husband can join me there four years from now.

I wish I could vote. I will surely vote for a CHANGE!

What time should we expect results? or even at least leading?

Vida Taylor

I think the first polls close at 6:30 pm EST. Then most states on the East Coast will close at 7:00, and it will go from there, but if people are in line at 7:00, they will get a chance to vote -- at least that's the case here in SC. They'll probably start projecting winners in each state not long after the polls close in each state. Several of us are going to my sister's house to watch the returns and either celebrate or drown our sorrows. It may be a long night.

LONG line at the middle school which made dropping the kids off a real treat, but when I went to where I vote there wasn't really a line at all. BTW no one got asked to see their license or any other proof of id. Small town and I stick out like a sore thumb since I wear hijab but still, these little old ladies at the polls can't know EVERYONE can they?

I of course can't vote yet *sigh*, but will the next time! Gene was at the polls at 5:40 a.m. this morning, and was about 200th in line. He said it took about an hour and a quarter after the doors opened to get to the front. It'll only get worse I'm sure.

Not yet. I got there at 6 a.m. to see the line about 3 or 4 blocks long (lined all the way around a school yard and then down the block). I looked at the line.....looked at the temperature gauge on my car....47 degrees (brrrr) and came on in here to work. I'm going to leave at noon and stand around in the 70 degree temps to wait it out. Wish I could've voted early. Lucky duck.

That's what Andre said, Carla......Next time!

It would be cool if you two were sworn in together.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast
