Does anyone know what paperwork nd stuff are done at the port of entry?

You mean with your CR1/IR1 visa for the first time?

I have not done it but others report of handing the officer a sealed envelope and maybe some questions

They will take your MBE(Mystery Brown Envelope)which contains all your application paperwork and they may require your X-ray from your medical(which is way you should have that in your hand luggage as you can't pick up your checked luggage until after you go through immigration. Feel free to look at my POE experience(in my signature)to get an idea of what you can expect. I don't know which POE you are going through in New York, but if its Newark, then this is the one I went through. Be prepared for a long wait!

I went through Newark too, all I needed is the MBE and my passport with the visa in it. No questions were asked and we were out of secondary before our lugage was even ready!
