time to cash cheque

...so we mailed everything off for our i 129f on 29th oct..i know im probablly being impatient..but our cheque hasnt been cashed yet!! any ideas on how long this will take, i know not to expect my NOA1 yet...im just keen to know things are moving!!!!

checks usually takes about 2-3 days to clear and you have to wait 3-4 weeks for the NOA 1 because this is the average time.

right...with that being the case im giving it 2 more days then getting the boy to track the parcel with the post office to make sure it arrived...many thanks!

Ours arrived on the 6th and our cheque wasn't cashed until the 14th.

Ours took over a week mate! Don't worry at this stage, you will be fine. If he sent it on Wed, it wouldn't have gotten there until Thurs maybe Fri. You should have a number that the USPS gave you.

i mailed in my I129f Oct.20 and they received and issued my NOA1 on Oct. 23rd. there stating that enclosed was payment of 455.00. i sent a money order so i dont know if they cashed it but they did acknoledge receiving payment so thats all i need....dont worry you should get it this week or next

Did you get a number that you can track the package online? I sent mine the day before yours, and I just got the return receipt back today. I checked online a couple days ago, and it was delivered two days after I sent it. The return receipt said it was delivered the day after the website said it was though.

it took the vsc a week to receive, open our package and then enter it into the system. it took three more days before the noa1 date started. try not to worry too much but it would be a good idea to check the date the letter actually arrived if you have a tracking number, just for your peace of mind and sanity.

Yeah ours sat at VSC for a whole week before they acknowledged it with a NOA1. Goodness knows what it was doing then.

When i first apply for I-130, october 2007 it took a couple months to clear. Then i applied for I-485 in april 2008 and it took a couple days. The first time we applied for something though we didnt do a mail confirmation or anything, so the whole time we were hoping they didnt get our papers lost or something like that.. the second time we applied for something we made sure to get ALL KINDS of USPS delivery confirmations, signatures and what not... this time we got our NOA-1 even before we got the delivery confirmation....

so you never know.. it just depends on how far in the stack you are!

i don't really see why they couldn't action it from the first date but oh well, i will not question their crazy bureaucracy. i was happy enough to get the noa1 regardless of the date.
