Once your husband gets the work, he can apply to any job except the ones that require that you must be a US citizen or even Green Card Holder.. because he does not even have the green card yet!.. I got a job offer but they needed you to be a USC or green card holder..they tried to do it so i can work but they needed me to have the green card in my hand..

They might do background checks that are mostly criminal, credit report etc... but if one been good while in US..he/she dont have nothing to worry about

Since you husband dont even have a social, then no worries about that.

And he will have to take his passport, work permit showing his status and proof of residence, like a bill or something in some cases..all states differ to obtain a social security card.. I will advise though, that after your husband receives his social security card in the mail..he should go to the local DMV and obtain a state I.D or drivers license..easy forms of identification instead of taking passports everywhere..

And when he accepts his job offer, he can take his social security card and work permit as forms of identification ( the work permit is a form of identification, it has a picture and DOB info and so)..On his I-9 , he needs to fill out all top information and check box of alien authorized to work till.. with alien # and expired date which are all located on the card. HOPE THIS HELPS!

I know we freaking rock B)

Backgrounds check are standard in some positions, so they will test him and research his criminal and maybe credit history, not a biggie is he doesn't have anything to hide.

As soon as you get the EAD, he can go to the Social Security Admin and request a SSN and this goes for a drivers license as well.
