When the visa has been issued...how long does it usually take to send in mail? Also, is the passport sent to the US and back to the country of the beneficiary? or is the visa issued in the embassy? I'm trying to get an idea as to the details of the visa issuance part of it so I can get a time range...

Firstly, LETS APPLY SOME LOGIC HERE: WHY would they send the passport to the USA??? It is needed by the foreign citizen to ENTER the USA, so it WILL be sent to the foreign citizen.

The visa is printed and applied to passport by the US consulate or Embassy where the visa is interviewed for.

TIMELINES: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list...pt&dfile=No (Approx 2 weeks after interview on average)

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

What I am trying to ask, because I had read some things online, that sometimes the passport is sent to the DOS, who will put the visa in, and then send it back to the US embassy in Egypt, or mail it to the Egyptian citizen directly. I am not sure if the embassy in Cairo has the authority to put the physical visa in the passport. What I am trying to understand is not the general timeline from visajourney, but what happens at the time of visa issuance, and the process it undergoes up to the point of being mailed. then I need to know an approximate timeline from the time of issuance to the time it reaches the beneficiary. the timelines on this site are not that specific in this particular stage I am in, which is why I would like any specific case examples anyone might have as to their personal situation. I appreciate the response though. I have been waiting almost two months since after his interview, but it is what happens after the officer's final review up to the point of being mailed that I am trying to research.
