December 14...To All Employees

I'm sure I speak for all of us in wishing Patty Lewis a speedy recovery

from her stress-related illness. I'll continue to forward your cards to

her at the sanitarium. In the meantime management has decided to cancel

the Holiday Party and give everyone the afternoon of the 23rd off with

full pay.

Terri Bishop, Acting Human Resources Director[/b]

I still don't understand why Patti got fired. She was doing all the right things..... :D

See, this is an example of what I am talking about when I noted that people on VJ have reading comprehension issues. NOWHERE in that story does it say that Patti got fired. Nowhere! At the end, it notes that Patty is in a sanitarium - no doubt taking advantage of her sick leave at best, and of the FMLA at worst. That does not even HINT that Patti was fired.

Yeah.......I think your room is ready.

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

Don't hide it - but for ####'s sake, knock it off with the huge fonts already.

When real issues are buried in BS and decisions need to be made, real managers make those decisions. This veiled (comical) FMLA issue was not presented as it would be in real life, thus proving that you are not a manager of people. Real issues smack managers in the face, and are handled in legal and appropriate fashion. I deal with this shite everyday, so don't amuse yourself with hypothetical response from the bleacher seat.

Wow - boy was that out of left field.

And actually, I hire, fire and manage all sorts of people - and some of them have even gone out on FMLA paperwork that I have signed (:

So when you post something like

Screw that. Your candidate sucks. Whichever candidate that is.
which I wouldn't call a joke...are you saying it's something serious?
It is completely serious. ALL OF THE CANDIDATES SUCK!!! Go back and look at post #6

Screw that. Your candidate sucks. Whichever candidate that is.

But that's OK. My candidate sucks too!!

I dunno how much more clear I can be.

Ah....you added a little fuel to the fire. Don't try acting too innocent. :)

Difference between you and Nutty is that you actually have points to make, and you don't just try to make a snappy comment and run.

You also don't go around provoking for no reason and then crying victim.

Actually, I think the people on here take me far more seriously than I take myself. Believe me, no one is more aware of "this is just a message board" than I am . . .

I'm aways amazed at how upset people get about what is said on a message board, and how they seriously think they can shame someone with threats to laugh at them, or posting some pseudo-psychology ####### like "they act like that because yada yada yada". Are they serious? If you need a time out, take it, don't blame the other guy for your own lack of control.

But really, isn't it all about CHANGE!! Isn't CHANGE what is really important here?

Now - quickly - take this $10 bill and give me change for a hundred.

Another rare occasion that we are in agreement.
