Hi,

My girlfriend and I have received our NOA2 (yay! great feeling!). I'm now looking closely at form I-134 Affadavit of Support and have a quick question or two.

Firstly, I've searched the forum and found a few helpful threads, but non which specifically answer my questions. I understand the basics of I-134, but since my girlfriend is currently a college student and is NOT working, I'm a little unsure of a few things.

1) Firstly, as part of the Affadavit of Support you need to disclose where you work, how much you earn and so on. In our case, as stated my girlfriend is not employed, so would she just leave this blank or simply put 'Currently Unemployed' or should she put 'Full-time Student' and then her College details instead of employer details?

2) Secondly, apart from whatever money she has in her bank account, she doesn't have any other means of income or assets, so with those sections of the form which require a dollar-amount be put in, what exactly should she write? Should she leave it blank, put 'N/A' or 'None'.. or something else such as '$0.00'?

3) Thirdly, when it comes to 'persons who are dependent', since my girlfriend won't be able to support me, her mother has kindly agreed to co-sponsor me. My girlfriend has 1 sister, so in terms of dependents, does my gf's mother include her husband as a dependent since he is part of the household, or would it just be my gf and her sister who would be deemed dependents...and also, would she list me as a dependent on that list (it's Question 8 on the form), or is it already a given that I'll be a dependent?

4) Finally, when it comes to notarising the form, can it be done by the same person who did earlier notarisations for the I-129F application, or do we need a special notary since this is an important form?

Thanks in advance for any help!

If you've filed for a K1 visa, it's critical you have a fiancee, not a "girlfriend".

Student and name of college is fine.

Zero is fine.

Sounds like the mother's household size is 4 including you.

Any US Notary is fine.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
Understanding the big picture is priceless. Anonymous

Thank you pushbrk for your help!

Just another quick question. If my fiancee's mother's annual income is above the required level, does she STILL HAVE TO provide bank account information, mortgage details, life insurance details and so forth? .. or is it okay to simply state her annual income and leave the other sections blank (even if she does have a mortgage, does have shares, does have life insurance, etc.) ?

Also, could someone please provided the latest table about the minimum income requirements. I remember researching this topic months ago and I found it, but now that my fiancee is getting the I-134, I'm finding it difficult to find that info?

Thanks everyone for all your help! :)
