Sooo I missed calling last Friday because I had to work and head to the airport right after work because I flew down for a 4 day weekend to see my hunnie.... Crossing at the Peace Bridge was interesting, it was the first time I ever had any trouble from the immigration people, the officer wasnt going to let me into the US until I dug out my p3 and went through it with a magnifying glass. He didnt believe me that I met my bf on World of Warcraft and brought over 3 other people to look at me and point and say that I play WoW. Finaly after like 15 mins of being lectured about how I have to return to Canada and cant stay in the US without a visa he let me go and I was on my way to the airport :) So it really does pay afterall to keep your documents with you at all times, he even told me to do so. Anyways I had a really nice, relaxing weekend with my hunnie, especially when he surprised me with a ring at our favourite spot at the beach. Was soo totally worth the sunburn. I got home late yesterday and tried to call DoS but they were closed :( So I tried today after work and ..... JULY 8, 8:30 am!!!!!!

YAY!!! That's GREAT!!!! finally some movement! I'm glad to see Montreal's moving! I hope they keep giving interviews this week...so if they got you in their system in April and you got a July interview, that means I'm getting an August interview...that sucks i was hoping for July...oh well, can't do nothing about it....

Still really happy for you and hoping that more people will get interviews soon!!!

Julie, you never know - they may have scheduled you as well... never hurts to ask :innocent:

Hey guys, I got some more stuff from my sweetie in the mail. He sent me the I-134 Affidavit of Support, a copy of his 2008 return, his two most recent paystubs, and a copy of his bank statement that shows savings, checking, mortgage, and vehicle loan info. Do you think I should get him to send me anything else, oh and he sent me the letter from his employer showing his position, salary,length of time etc.

I also realize he has his W2's for the last 3 years. For anyone who has already interviewed did you get asked for a letter from the bank? I have his statement from the bank showing everything, but I am wondering if you acutally need a letter from an officer of the bank?

Did everyone bring this signed letter from the bank or have people been ok without it , it is the only think we don't have. We have tax returns, a statement from his employer, pay stubs and a statement from his bank showing balances. I'm just wondering how important the date the account was opened is if you have everything else...I found this

The Sponsor must submit in duplicate evidence of income and resources, as appropriate:

A. Statement from officer of the bank or other fincial institution where you have deposits, giving the following details regarding your account:

1. Date account opened;

2. Total amount deposited for the past year;

3 Present balance.

B. Statement of your employer on business stationary, showing:

1. Date and nature of employment;

2. Salary paid;

3. Whether the position is temporary or permanent.

C. If self-employed:

1. Copy of last income tax return filed; or

2. Report of commercial rating concern.

D. List containing serial numbers and denomination of bonds and name of record owner(s).

So is this like A, B or C and D if applicable or both A and B?

Hubby is supposed to mail back our checklist to Montreal today. We did the DS 160 online over the weekend and it was a big pain with a lot of glitches. I hope they fix that thing! His medical is in Montreal on June 19th.

Mine had glitches too. When I printed the photo with barcode page, it only saved/printed half a page. Thank god I saved it as a PDF before it glitched because I had Acrobat PRO. ;-p

What happened to your page?

First congrats to all who got interview dates!!! :dance:

As for that 160 form, we had a problem with putting in spouse's name (where they said include maiden name). It errored and said that the name had to match all previous names entered?? So then even when hubby deleted the maiden name, it still gave the error. I don't know what he eventually did, I think copied and pasted my name from a previous page, it let us go on. Then on current work, well, he both works and goes to school, but it doesn't allow for both (it only allows you to input ONE item there), so he put school on the previous work/school page. This form is so idiotic! And then when he went to print it out, you have to print each page separately, instead of ONE print button at the end that prints the whole form! Then each page he'd print would print two useless pages with it. UGH. The whole thing was just a frustrating experience for us (I was online with him walking through the form with him). The receipt page with photo and barcode printed out OK for us though.

Hi everyone at VJ

Just wanted to let you know that we had our interview in Montreal yesterday morning and we got it!!!! YAY.

it all went as planned... just like expected. Nothing unusual or unexpected. In fact, waaaaaaaaaay prepared and glad of it.

VJ's first in line... with all the right stuff. Very cool.

Out by 10 am ( only because computer issues - likely would have been a lot sooner)

I'll do a separate review... but it'll be short as I am moving out of Canada on the 11th and getting married by June 13th.

So, again, thank you to all of you who have helped to this stage. it has been incredible.

AOS next....

Cheers!

tom

Congratulations! So glad to hear about another successful interview! :)

Thank you seekersharer for your PM and your kind words. My post was a little vague. Of coarse, demoralized or not, I will put my papers together as best I can before the interview - but I think you and trailmix said it best as that I keep feeling "victimized". I have felt victimized since day 1 when I first glanced at the immigration websites for the U.S and saw how daunting and overwhelming it was. I feel victimized by not being able to work, waiting forever and loosing our wedding date, and of course giving up my health care so I can sell a kidney to pay pay for my heart transplant one day (a figure of speech). If we had it any other way, we'd live in Canada but my step-daughter is court mandated to see her bio-dad every other weekend and so I chose to come here to the U.S. I'd sacrifice just about anything for both of them because I love them so much. Every time I see someone have a good interview, it makes me feel reassured. Is it true what others have said? Is the interview really the easiest part of the K1?

TG, you sound just like my fiance'. He got so unbelieveably fed up with the system, but (please pardon the sappiness here!) it was our love that kep him going. It was knowing that although we couldn't keep our original date (I had my heart set - since I was a little girl!!!) on April 24th (my grandmother's birthday)... and that April 24th had to be on a Friday (which it was this year) and I bawled (think ugly-girl with red-puffy-eye crying) over the fact that our process wouldn't be done in time for that to happen. Well, to make this in to a happy story, he is still coming over. We are still getting married. The day will still be as blessed and happy. The date just won't, well, be the same.

But - the happy news for you??!! Kristin and her daughter (I'm sure of it!!!) love and adore you and would still get married in the ghetto-fabulous location of where ever. The day will be what you make of it. Here's an idea!!! People do this all the time, too... what if you two had a "theme" wedding??!! You could re-create the music festival and use that as the basis for everything for your wedding!

But... not to put the cart before the horse... yes, the interview truly, truly, truly is the easiest part. As the USC, I didn't have to go with my fiance to the interview, but I chose to do so. I think they *like* to see the USC, but it is not required AT all! I snuck a kiss after she said we were approved... I embarrassed the crud out of my fiance', but the interviewer thought it was sweet. lol You'll spend about an hour or so inside, moving from one person to the next, and the final person is the interviewer. You'll spend about 5 minutes with him/her.

Think of it basically as... we've asked you for 49 gazillion pieces of information about 52 different ways and you've also sent in an entire photo collage of your self. Are you really who you say you are in person as on paper?? Oh, and does this charming face at the interview match the lovely faces in the photos previously submitted?? You are and you are. Great! You haven't been in trouble... don't get into trouble... and congratulations! Voila!

Keep your chin up! Your best days are still ahead! :)
