Well roughly by filling date. It certainly is no exact science! There were people who filed after me who had interviews first... but It was only a matter of a couple weeks. I'm very glad I send that packet 3 back mid February and didn't wait til March because it seems like things have slowed down... Hang on guys, you'll get it!

This doesn't help much but a lot of you guys filed your I-129F's a long time ago, wow. Blame Vermont!

Poprocks and sapphiredreams, thank you guys for putting my mind to ease  He just visited last week and it is getting harder and harder to see him go....so was really scared that I did anything to make the process any longer than it is!

And you are so right Hugglebuggles, it seems that all the people that have filed back in Jan. and Feb. have gotten their interview date much quicker than anyone else that filed before and after that.....as for me, I really have to say that we weren't lucky to have to file our I-129 at California, it's the slowest of them all!! Was warned that it can take up to 8 months and it certainly did take that long  But glad to see that we are all at the final stretch, just have to hang in there somehow...

Actually Muffin, California is the fastest service center right now! It seriously took you 8 months to get your NOA2? That's insane. Any idea why that could be the case? It took us a little over 3, that's it.

I just sent my checklist/DS-230 form and stuff to the Montreal consulate today... Have everything-now it's just a waiting game.

Lame-o questions, answer I couldn't quite cipher perusing are: What's the average re: the consulate getting back to you with an interview date..? That and when you do get the letter, how much time/advance notice does one get between receipt of the interview and the actual interview date?

Info/experiences are of course super welcome... thanks :)

Average wait time from sending checklist to interview is 2-4 months. Notification between when you find out and actaul interview ranges from 2-6 weeks. Letter is usually sent a week after your scheduled. Letters have been known to get lost, so I would call around the 2 month mark, or sooner if u want ;)

Hotwire.com has cheap hotel rates. Go to mapquest and put in address for consulate, you can then cross reference that with hotel area on hotwire and get a good idea how close your hotel will be.

Good luck!

Hi everyone at VJ

Just wanted to let you know that we had our interview in Montreal yesterday morning and we got it!!!! YAY.

it all went as planned... just like expected. Nothing unusual or unexpected. In fact, waaaaaaaaaay prepared and glad of it.

VJ's first in line... with all the right stuff. Very cool.

Out by 10 am ( only because computer issues - likely would have been a lot sooner)

I'll do a separate review... but it'll be short as I am moving out of Canada on the 11th and getting married by June 13th.

So, again, thank you to all of you who have helped to this stage. it has been incredible.

AOS next....

Cheers!

SeekerSharer: Some words of encouragement are greatly welcomed regarding the interview. I'm living in paranoia that the more I bond with my step daughter and future wife that I'll be ripped out of their life for some unknown reason at the interview. My papers are disorganized still and I have no strength to organize them because I'm completely demoralized at how long it has taken to receive an interview date. We were supposed to get married this weekend at the annual music festival we met at last two years ago (which is this weekend). Instead, we've lost out on that and will likely get married in some ghetto hillbilly courthouse whenever Montreal decides to put their poutine down and sort the P3 files.
