K-1 people waiting for interviews at Montreal

Take a look at the Vancouver consulate timelines too, there are fellow K1 fillers who sent in p3 around May 5-11th that have interview dates already. It's not just Canada that is slower than other countries, its Montreal. If Montreal is so backed up with cases that they are scheduling interviews 6-8 weeks behind Vancouver, than perhaps they should transfer some of the cases to the Vancouver consulate. Im sure we would all rather take a trip to Vancouver instead of this. No reply to my e-mail yet, but I did read in the fine point it is currently 2-3 months to schedule an interview...

Hey guys,

I just called the state department and there’s nothing yet. I did find out that our lawyer was much more efficient then we thought though. Apparently my package 3 was logged on March 23rd, so it looks like they’re definitely taking their time issuing the dates right now.

I’m pretty stressed with the wait right now too. Though we made it harder on ourselves then it needed to be I think - I moved and left my job planning to spend a couple months with my family on the east coast before leaving for the US. I personally try not to think about all the people who’ve filed way later then us and are already finished, it’s just frustrating. It could also be worse. I’ve seen people on here whose cases have been lost by the USCIS etc….

Yeah I’m surprised. I spoke with the attorney’s office in early April and she wanted some additional photos from me. They also didn’t bill me for postage until the 7th, so I assumed they didn’t sent the package off until then.

Great! More paperwork for the pile while I continue to wait! :-)

So here's a personal question: how many other here have broken nerves and extreme anxiety from the amount of time it's taking to get an interview date? Isn't is nice to know that countries like Cambodia have faster processing times than Canada? This whole visa process has consumed me.... I'm drowning....

I will try to visit my significant other in June so I can forget this interview date altogether. I have a letter from mom, employer, bank statement, Canada Post change of address confirmation, and our K1 papers to show Mr. Grumpy pants Border Guard . I hope it's enough....

The waiting does suck....but it does happen, hang in there :)

If you are looking at recent trends....people who submitted in Dec/08 interviewed in March, and people who submitted from Jan-March interviewed in April. It seems like they are every other month with K1's.... It sucked for the Jan people as they waited 8 weeks to even find out they had an interview the following month. But a few of us in March, lucked out and we made the cut with the Jan/Feb people and got interviews within 3 weeks of submitting.

Judging by recent trends, you guys may be looking at notification in June, for July dates. And if it comes sooner, how great would that be!!! :)

The normal cycle has been 2-3 months from receipt of the P3.

Good luck! :)

Well I hope you are right, I just want to be able to move in August when my lease is up. Id be happy even if they told me the date was in August, as long as I hear something within 5ish weeks, or the end of June...

That's the timelime I'm thinking about too. Get scheduled in June for a date in July. We'll see. I plan on moving on August 15th....I'm sure I will have had my interview by then! Let's hang in there! With all the time we've been waiting to be with our SOs, what's an extra few weeks?? It's hard, but there's nothing we can do about it. I'm sure we'll look back one day and laugh at this whole process! well maybe not so hard....but u get the point! ;)

I'm still going to hold out for a June interview date. You never know, the consulate may still take into consideration our early June wedding date and call us in. Anything is possible. Until then, I am going down to the U.S. on Sunday to wait out the rest of this nightmare. I think Montreal is long overdue for a new round of interviews and I think they have plenty of space in June.....

Hi Ruby_mtl and everyone!

KristinL calls on Thursdays as she did today but there was no date set yet. As for the day you call, can you call on Thursdays beginning next week since instead since KristinL and me (Toronto Guy) are calling for the same file? It's better to spread ourselves out for the sake of a larger sample of the pie. AmberL is calling tomorrow! Looking forward to POSITIVE news soon!!!

Don't worry, they'll automatically extend it for you!

I bet you guys will have June interviews. For April interviews, they didn't distribute interview dates until the very last week of march! Some people had 2 weeks to prepare.

Yeah... that was us (and PopRocks and Wis-Can). We found out on March 27th that our interview was on April 16th. It's possible -- nerve-wracking, but possible!!! :P

Event Date

ROC

9/24/11 - Mailed I-751 packet to CSC

9/26/11 - NOA1 Receipt Date

9/28/11 - Check cashed

10/1/11 - NOA1 arrived in mail

3/19/12 - RFE

5/3/12 - RoC APPROVED!!!
