K-1 people waiting for interviews at Montreal

Hi everyone, I’ve been following the forums for a bit now so I thought I’d sign in and introduce myself. I’m currently waiting for an interview at the Montreal consulate, (and trying not to go crazy in the process). This process has taken much longer then we thought it would, and it’s been pretty difficult, but hearing other people’s success stories and knowing that I’m not the only one who’s stressing out over the interview actually helps.

So for any of you keeping track, I submitted our packet three around the 7th of April. Our lawyer sent it in so I don’t know the exact date. I called the DOS today and I don’t have an interview date yet. Based on how fast they’ve been going lately, I’m sure we’ll all hear something soon. Good luck everyone! And congrats to those who have completed their interviews - I can’t wait to be in your shoes.

Welcome. If you call DOS, they will tell you the day they logged your packet 3. That's the day you go by.

Just an FYI, once you rec've your packet 4 with interview, review all your stuff on here and prep your file. I too had a lawyer, and there were somethings he missed that I found out about on here and did myself before my interview....such as DS156 and additional 2008 tax filings transcripts etc...

Good luck

This is frustrating. We don't know where the passport is then...

How long did it take to people to receive the visa on average?

Mine arrived this morning and I am in Niagara Region. I'm sure yours is not far behind.

Wow nice! That was pretty quick for you!

Thanks everyone for answering the roll call. Here is a list of who I can visibly see in this thread still waiting for their packet 4/interview date.

PERSON(S) WAITING + DATE PACKET 3 LOGGED IN:

Sparky&Me: April 7th (?)

amberL: April 9th

Toronto Guy and KristinL: April 27th

hapycloud: April 28th

ruby_mtl: May 1st

It is my suspicion that since Montreal doles out interviews in batches, the moment one of us gets an interview date from the DOS, it is likely we will all get an interview date at the same time.

Since there are five of us, would anyone be interested in picking a day of the week to call the DOS so it'll be like each of us calling everyday without making ourselves appear crazy-obessed to the DOS? They do, after all, log each time we call! :-/ Or, would you all just like to stick together and report to each other the moment you do get an interview?

From the looks of it April 7th to May 15th is a long time to go without scheduling interviews.....

If I missed anyone, speak now and I'll add you to the list!

Currently I am calling on Mondays in the afternoon. So I can continue doing that no problem...as of Monday May 5, 2009 I did not have an interview date. This ofcourse I figured because I think they will give them out on Friday May 29th LOL :)

I will let you all know if I hear anything next Monday :)

I am crazy obsessed by the way, but trying not to appear so :) I just constantly check VJ instead of harassing the DOS!!!

Friday is my usual day to call, around 2 pm. Tho today i'm calling an hour earlier - on the phone as i'm typing but i'm not holding my breath, andd they are quoting a 10 min wait time, first time ive ever had that and those cheap people at DoS, no hold music? Is the recession that bad? Bah nothing, but the representative was quite possibly the nicest one I have spoken to yet, his name was Brian I think, he said " sorry no date yet". Much nicer than the lady I spoke with last week.. sigh.

I am not sure exactly how accurate this data is because it hasnt been updated in over a month but I think that based on the lack of interviews scheduled for May, that May is another February with like only a small number of dates. Maybe everyone decided to book their holidays for this month and they are severely understaffed. Im kinda kicking myself for not pestering for another p3 more when my first one never arrived, otherwise if I would have actually gotten the first one I might have actually had a date by now...

Just called DOS for the 1st time...They said our date of eligibility was May 5th (although Montreal received it on the 1st...oh well!)so I guess I should recalculate and count the 6 weeks from May 5th...we'll see.

How can I be added to the spreadsheet?

Thanks for the welcomes to the thread. I’ll ask for the exact date that package 3 was logged at the consulate the next time I call the DOS. I’m also game for calling the DOS on a set day - my fiancé wants me to call every day but I don’t want to irritate the people answering the phones. I can call them on Wednesdays.

Fall 2004: Met playing Warcraft

Aug 21, 2008: I-129 NOA1

Jan 30, 2009: I-129 NOA2

Mar 23, 2009: Package 3 logged at Mtl. consulate

Jul 15, 2009: Interview

Jul 26, 2009: Moving day!!!!!

Aug 24, 2009: Wedding

I asked a couple of days ago if anyone still had editting priviledges to the spreadsheet, if no one still does I might try and make a new one on Monday.
