Too funny!! We were there Monday night too and my husband enjoyed the half price "beverage" as well.

We were CR1 but I was pretty sure that was you as well. I didn't want to say anything because I thought you looked a little nervous. Congrats again  It's a great feeling isn't it!

Haha we were to the one on Ste Catherine and McGill. There were too many couples for me to be sure it was you but you knew the elevator was opening on the other side :)

This embassy was much nicer than the one in Paris, people were friendly at least. For the two former visas I had and had to go to Paris, the people there treat you as if you just commited a crime.

Another good point for Montreal ;)

Yup, that's the one we were at as well. I wish we had more time to enjoy the city but leaving with an approval was good enough for me!

Yes, that was us facing the correct way on the elevator. I figured that anyone who knew that detail had to be on VJ!

On a separate note, I checked Canada Post tracking and my package has already been received at the Montreal post office!

Hi everybody,

Since I am still relatively new here, I just wanted to take a ROLL CALL and see who else has submitted their packet 3 and still waiting for an interview date. Any clues as to when the next round of scheduling is? We called the DOS today and there's still no date. Our packet 3 was received and logged on April 27, 09.

It looks like our wedding plans our ruined at this point - we wanted to get married on the first weekend of June. I even tried e-mailing Montreal to explain this and they replied "you are on a waiting list to be scheduled soonest". Nothing has been updated since. I might go down and visit the love of my life and stay until an interview date is actually set. That way, we can drive up to Canada together, do the interview, pack my things, and move together. Has anyone here done that? At least that would soften the blow from the disapointment of not having any interview in the foreseeable future.

I can't believe it's almost summer and there's still no interview..... we thought we'd be done by now. This is so damn demoralizing.

We are waiting for an interview. Packet 3 was received in Montreal on May 1st. Looks like it takes about 6weeks to schedule an interview, so I'm not expecting anything before July, which is ok because I'm planning a move for August 15th. Would'nt want to have my visa too soon, then have to wait to leave...

Sorry about the wedding plans....we are planning the ceremony wedding for 2010, so we have nothing to plan yet. We'll just book the court house when we know the interview date. The only organizing I have to do for now is to find a killer dress and killer shoes, and of course a babysitter on standby for the civil wedding!!!:rofl:

How much advance notice do they give you before the interview?

I called March 27th, the day they issued my interview, got interview letter 4 on March 30th, and my interview was April 17th. I had 3 weeks notice. They give about 3-5 weeks.

Oh boy, thanks! Just wondering how much notice I'll have to get a plane ticket and fly to Canada to join my hubby for the interview!

My fiancé came with me, he flew. The week we found out, I checked Hotwire.com and a flight was $250, we waited until the week before to book and paid $450 :( so I would recommend booking right away, you'll get a good deal on Hotwire, like 30-40% less than other sites. We also booked our hotel on there and got Sheraton 4* for $90/night.

Good luck :)

Thanks! I am in Texas, so it costs a little bit more for me to fly there. The cheapest I have ever found was around $400. Usually it's around $600 to $800.

Not a bad sign at all, my tracking # never showed up on the web. I got it, checked again and it still didn't work! It takes some time to be logged, if it is at all. Likely it may just show up at your place!

We had our interview on Wednesday, and it showed up on the Canada Post website Friday night (like around 10 p.m. - it didn't even show up at 6 p.m. when I checked) and then it was delivered Monday afternoon.

Since you had your interview Tuesday, it will probably show up late tonight and then delivered tomorrow afternoon. If not, then it will probably show up on the site Friday and then delivered Tuesday. You're still good!

I got my visa exactly 1 week later, but there is no method, as others who interviewed the same day as me, got theirs days before me. My tracking number never worked, I got the visa and checked the system, it finally said rec'd at post office....ah no kidding, it's in my hands LOL!

Don't worry it will come....within 1 week :)

TOGUY, if you want to see who is still waiting go to immigration timelines-> view k1 visas (advanced) and select canada and sort by date sent p3. I think that is the best way to get an idea of who is still waiting for a K1 interview. My p3 checklist etc was logged in April 9th (after waiting about a month to recieve it ), I call every Friday at 2 pm and no date yet as of last week. On my DS whatever form I put my estimated arrival date to the US for July and my NOA2 expires July 9. Now I am hoping for a mid June to late June interview, and I had initially planned to move at this time because I will have had my graduation ceremony and nothing else really to do in Canada ... ( besides work that is ) And I hope the 6 week estimate to getting an interview date is true, because its almost been 6 weeks for me :D

Im sure they get lots of e-mails every day from people asking to have the soonest possible interview date, because well we are all in the same boat but, maybe I am just miserable because I am like one of 3 I think September VSC fillers who havent had an interview yet, but I am getting off topic... I feel like now I should request an earlier interview date because I dont want to get a later date than everyone else that sent in their p3 after me because those people have asked for the earliest date possible even though we all got the piece of paper in our p3s that estimated 4-6 months for an interview. I wish things worked first come, first serve ><

I think they will schedule all of us very soon. If you haven't received an interview after your packet 3 was logged way back from April 9th, then they are seriously overdue to do a new round of interview dates. Our wedding was planned around an annual music festival of less than 100 people who know and love us and were really excited to see us married. At this point, it's highly unlikely. I suppose now we'll have to have an "off the highway wedding' in a courthouse. We never, ever, though it would drag on like this.

Hi everyone, I’ve been following the forums for a bit now so I thought I’d sign in and introduce myself. I’m currently waiting for an interview at the Montreal consulate, (and trying not to go crazy in the process). This process has taken much longer then we thought it would, and it’s been pretty difficult, but hearing other people’s success stories and knowing that I’m not the only one who’s stressing out over the interview actually helps.

So for any of you keeping track, I submitted our packet three around the 7th of April. Our lawyer sent it in so I don’t know the exact date. I called the DOS today and I don’t have an interview date yet. Based on how fast they’ve been going lately, I’m sure we’ll all hear something soon. Good luck everyone! And congrats to those who have completed their interviews - I can’t wait to be in your shoes.
