MEDICAL COMPLETED TODAY IN TORONTO!!

Uh, wow, that was fast!! 1-2-3 and I was done! What on earth was I so paranoid and worried about!?!?

It was already nice enough that I live within walking distance from Dr. Seidons office. I left at 6:40am and got there before 7am with coffee in hand. Payment was first, x-ray second, exam third, and blood test fouth and last. Badaboom badabing! I was out before 8:30am. Everything went so fast. The office was full of intending visa applicants and immigrants.

The exam went the quickest; the doctor was checking off check marks before even asking the questions! Out of all those questions on his sheet, he asked only 3 or 4 of them. It was toooooo funny. I did have to strip down and wear a gown though - for what though, I'll never know....the doctor only checked my breathing and abdomen. He glanced for .001 seconds at my "manliness" and that was it! :-) He was funny and in a good mood. I suppose I just looked healthy enough for him not to go any further? He asked only a couple questions and then said cheerfully "everything looks great!". The nurse taking the blood test was kind and gentle and asked me where I was moving to. I told her I was moving to the mountains in North Carolina on a K1 visa and she cooed and awed at the thought of young love.... <3 <3 <3 <3

He he he he he he!!! Now.... on to my next obsessive worry....

WHERE IS MY INTERVIEW DATE?!?!?!?!? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

C'mon Montreal! Put the poutine down and schedule me a date this month! Let's go! I wanna marry that crazy Merkin gal that I love so much! <3 <3 <3

Wow great! What were the questions he asked specifically? Did you have to sign any forms?

To answer childress_london's questions, The doc asked questions folling up on the questionnaire. the questionnaire asks about medical history (ie: any heart condition, surgery, STDs, lung problems, mental health problems, prescription meds, etc.). He checked my lungs, abdomen, ears, throat, eyes. The only forms I signed was with the nurse saying that I did the medical exam, and that I'm allowing the clinic to give the results and info to the US consulate. That's it!!! Cali, sweet! Sometimes I say to my hubby, I wished you lived somewhere like LA or Miami where I could have moved to instead of Philly  Not sure about 24 hours at the airports, I know at border points they are there 24 hours. 4 hours is really early but I say better to get there super early and relax, what if customs has a huge line and you get a newbie officer that takes awhile, you never know. Good luck!!

Francis, not to worry you, but if u were flying out at 8am, I would say 4 hours is way plenty....8pm is a different story. They are very busy, and keep in mind they process all travelers going to or through US from Pearson. I have been there and waited 1.5 hours just for customs clearance, not to mention secondary. I would try calling them and asking how busy they get at that time. It would suck if you got tied up for 2-3 hours in there just waiting.

But that being said, hopefully it's only 30 mins!!!! :) Cali? Lucky! We are in PA but always say that we are heading south to Cali in the next 10 years for sure! :)

Re: Questionnaire

I expected to fill one of these in at Dr. Seidons office too but there was nothing. The doc was asking the questions and ticking off the boxes for me. And like I said, he was ticking off more boxes than there were questions (even though the answers would have been 'no' anyways - maybe he was clairvoyant!)

Wonder why......
