Congrats francie and don't be shy....we are all family! ;)!

Our stuff is finally on it's way to the consulate...ds-160 was hell to fill out because I had no printer, no scan, and I never cropped a picture in my life!!!! Also, it wasn't clear to me if I had to send something from the ds-160, so I printed everything and sent the confirmation page with it...hope it's ok. I'm so glad I'm done with it! I'm also glad that the people at the consulate are so helpful, cause i was able to correct my daughter's name (they made the error) and was able to explain that my daughters were dual citizens (Canada-US) so they said that I was not to fill the forms for them. OUF!!!

Anyone else with canadian-american kids?

I'm thinking of waiting about 2-3weeks before I start looking for an interview date...Is that too soon?

thank you...

got a little confession to make..

i was the first one on the line but i was too shy to introduce myself to the other fellow vjers that was there... :bonk:

thank you very much for being so nice!

Awww I thought that was you!! Bill said, I bet the girl in the front was the other girl from VJ, she was smart enough to come early  Its ok, the experience was intimidating, I spent a lot of time just sitting there staring into space thinking about all the things that could go wrong! After you came up and said you were approved I felt a little better, so thanks for that!

lol i wasnt able to sleep the whole nyt so i got out of bed at 5am and i was ready at 6. i stayed in omni mont royal which is a little far from the consulate so i decided to go early so i can still grab a cup of coffee. im not canadian, im only here in canada on work permit so i was so much worried that they will take our case differently, which they did not!

i forgot to ask the name of the guy next to me. if he can read this, im so sorry for lying! he asked me if i read visa forums or a member of it.i said i read sometimes but im not a member. i wasnt 100% sure that i will be approved thats y its one of the reason that i was so shy to introduce myself to u. message me on pm coz i dont know what was the result of your interview.

anyway, i was the only one i think who brought bunch of papers and proofs of relationship which the consul didnt even asked me to show it so the TIFF recycable bag just sat on the chair in the corner of the interview room.

hugglebubbles - when i was finish at the interview, i returned to my sit and the guy next to me asked if im waiting for anything, and i said nothing but my knees are shaking thats y i decided to sit. lol!

I was wondering if that other guy was a VJ member as well, but I didn't really have a chance to talk to him aside from a couple words. When they came out after the interview they gave us the thumbs up, so I think it went well! Mystery man should post and say hello!

But don't blame you for needing to sit after. It didn't hit me until after... we got out and walked straight to the elevator, I just wanted out!! Then after we got outside the consulate I was like WOW! We brought some evidence, but not a lot. I figured the fact my fiance was there would be prof in itself! I'm glad everything went well for you!

we talked a lot of stuffs while waiting, he said he will be moving to hawaii. i heard his fiancee's name like there is LEE in the end. there's this one couphele on the list of the interviewees yesterday as josef and lee. maybe that's them. good to hear that he was approved as well!

huggle, the woman after you, we were on the same train on our way to montreal so i was surprise that she was having interview too. then while waiting for the train on the way back to toronto i bumped into her on the central station and asked her if the interview went well and she said yes.we were in the same train again. what about the other lady before you, with her mom, u said she is vjer too. did her interview went good as well?

APPROVED!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. You were right, it was so easy! It was the traveling and the waiting that was the hardest part. The interview literally took 5 minutes, she praised us on our neat paperwork, and just basically read through everything! She didn't even ask us how we met, she just read the paper we submitted with the I-129F and said, "wow you've been corresponding since 2005?" I'll write a review later tonight when I get home.

YEA!!! Congrats! Funny feeling once you're done, huh? All excited and now there's this "lull" from the drama and stress over a 5 minute simple conversation. I'm soooooo happy for the two of you!!!

just got home from montreal and we were approved!!

That's terrific! Congratulations!

Question about Montreal Visa X-press post envelope:

Does anyone know or has anyone tried using a "Priority Next Day" envelope over an "X-Press Post" envelope? The X-press post can take 2-3 days. Would they care?

Also, does someone have to be home to sign for it? I don't know if this thing requires a signature or not.

Just wanted to let you know I found out about my appointment today. I called NVC - 1, then 0... and then she said...

Yes, you are scheduled for June 2 at 9am.

Wow... never knew how much that would affect me. I hung up, and called my beloved in California... still reeling. She is too.

What for weeks has felt like time was inching along at a frustratingly slow pace, all of a sudden changed. In an instant. Like the turbo boosters kicked in and now I realize that I have 1,389,563 things left to do and not nearly enough time. Interview prep is fine. I have that all ready. It's all the other stuff that now has a deadline on it.

Thanks for being such a huge part of the journey these last 10 months. I can't imagine doing it without you.

cheers!

Fell in love with her: 1975

Lost track of her till 2004

Proposed in Paris.

You do have to be home to sign for it, if you're not they'll leave a slip and you have to go pick it up at your local PO. It's up to you to pay the extra $1 or whatever it is for the signature reqd sticker.... I'd suggest it though, you want to make sure this package doesn't get into the wrong hands by accident!

probably a dumb question, but I prefer to be safe that sorry .. lol

We received our express post envelope back from the consulate today :D Now I read somewhere there is one envelope that we can't open and have to give to the agents at the border .. which one is it, is it the express post envelope itself or another one that is inside the express post envelope ? I mean, is it OK to open the express post envelope ?

Sorry for my ignorance

Yes, you can open the Xpress Post envelope. The one you can't open is actually labeled... DO NOT OPEN. You'll know the difference when you see it. :)
