Packet 4 received today :) yay :)

Awesome!

I was just thinking... they sure didn't give you much time to prep for the interview eh? That could be a good or a bad thing. We've had a little over a month and I think the extra time is just making me worry more and more. But after all that extra waiting, you're going to have your interview only 2 weeks after me!

My fiance is coming tomorrow to help with the interview prep then we're off to Montreal Tuesday morning! I can't wait for this to be done.

He is getting the last piece of the puzzle this weekend (i-134 of co-sponsor) and we have the rest of the documents. Well we still need the envelope and do some extra photocopies at work but I think that's quite easy to do.

I SOOOOO know what you mean! A week ago today, we had one of those goodbyes. We'd just gone to MTL for the interview, spent 72 hours in total closeness (considering 20ish hours were on a train), and we laughed and joked around the majority of the time. after the interview leaving seemed different. I guess it was knowing that we had maybe one more "visit" and the visit after that wouldn't be a visit... it would be the "let's go home" drive. *sigh* We truly can't wait!

Hey guys!!

I know this has probably been answered a million times but I am going to ask again and make it a million and one times :) I am doing my affidavit of support (I-134) and if I make well above the 125% povert limit do I have to get bank statements and assests statements from stocks and bonds. I am thinking the answer is no but just want to make sure. I put my annual income, I am going to bring my 2007/2008 tax returns, I have a letter frm my employer, I am going to bring past three copies of pay checks. I also put down how much I think my current home is worth and how much I owe on it. (Is this part necessary?) If I do put my house information should I get a copy of how much I owe on my mortgage or just omit the whole house thing all together? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

I believe you only need prof of those assets if you intend on claiming it as part of your income. So, if you didn't make above the 125% range, you could include them to meet that level. But since you say you make well above, I really wouldn't bother. But if it would make you feel more comfortable and wouldn't care you much extra work, it can't hurt your case!

Do we only need copies of the passport biographical page ??

Montreal logged into the system that our pseudo packet 3 is received - checklist etc - the operator followed our stream of events and emails about it all. she said that montreal will review it and then SO becomes eligible for an interview... is that what they tell everyone? She said give it a week or two before its been reviewed.

You will get 6 different answers, from 6 different people, 6 different times you call.

Some days, you will get someone nice and inviting, other days, you could swear that you called the person in the middle of a lunch break

Aside from USCIS actually updating their systems, that is the only thing that remains consistent....

Every operator has a different way on explaining it. What they mean by what they told you, is that their system is showing as 'received' someone has logged your package to your file. This does not mean they have reviewed it... someone will do the once over, ensure that you have checked 'yes' to all items and returned your 230 etc... once they see your packet is 'fit', they put you into queue for an interview... this is what she meant by 'your SO would be eligible for an interview'. They can tell on the system if you are at that stage and just awaiting your date... sounds like a lot, but this all have been going down within 3 weeks the past 2 cycles... so stay positive... feel free to call back as often as you like...

They just got fast the past 2 months... when I started seeing people posting on March 27th, that they got dates, it didn't phase me, as they had sent their packets in Jan... miine went in March... but I thought, what the heck... and called, well ends up a handful of us who submitted in March, got April interviews!!!!

Good luck! I say within 5 weeks you'll be in Montreal... lets see if i'm right... :)

I'm the USC and I make more than the 125%. I still had to provide 2008 tax returns (the real one) but, I also included tax transcripts from 2006-2008 along with copies of my 2008 W2s. Those things specifically were requested... the rest I gathered b/c I didn't want there to be any questions! lol In addition, I provided a letter from the bank stating info about my account (when it opened, total amount of deposits for past 12 months), I also had my past 6 (most recent) pay stubs, a printout from my online banking with accounts and balances, as well as letter from my employer stating that I'm an employee in "good standing" and that I make X amount of money as well as a form stating that I will be returning next school year. Lastly, I also included info for my retirement accounts... printouts from accessing my accounts online.

As for the information regardng your home's worth, yes, it is required b/c the info is on the I-134 and you do need to know about how much you still owe on the property.

Isn't this FUN!!??!! lol

Thanks a lot July09Bride for your help :)

So .. Interview for me is today, hopefully everything will be OK, wish me luck :D

For those who have the interview today in Montreal, there are a bunch of peoples protesting in front of the embassy. They where there Saturday, Sunday, today and still where there when I left work at 12pm. Cops where there to check in case of problems .. I do not know what the heck it is all about, but I just wanted to let you know so you are not too surprised (in case they are still there)
