COOL! congrats :) try and get everything checked off and mailed back asap, once they rec've it, that's when the clock starts ticking for interview date countdown! I made the mistake if waiting a month! Even though I paid expedited service for my passport...

Good luck!!!! :)

Thanks for the advice, I had been reading what is required and had him go get a translation of his birth certificate, he has ordered his police certificate stuff so hopefully he will do the forms same day as received in the mail. He found his immunization book so he has that ready for the medical. I have my affidavite of support with proof already completed just need to sign and date it. I am trying to be on the ball!!

So I went on Hotwire, and I thought I had it figured out.... I studied the map and compared it to Mappquest, I thought we had for sure booked the Continental... and as soon as I booked, it popped up as Sheraton... either way i'm happy... we decided to extend our stay to 3 nights and see the City as my fiance has never been... so it was pretty decent, we got a 4* for $91 a night...

Anyone else ever stay at the Sheraton?

I was looking at flights from Philly to MTL for my fiance, and the day I checked it was only $249... we had this wedding that was on again off again drama that we were to attend, he was holding out to see if it was still on, as it was a biz contact and he felt obligated to go... well it got called off due to their not being able to agree on the pre-nup...lol... and my fiance booked the flight a few days later for $450 :( Didn't wanna say I told ya so... MEN! lol! As soon as I found out about the interview, I was like 'no way am I changing my date'!!!!! My fiance actually asked if it was possible... I told him ^&*&^&&%&^ NO!!!! that wedding is not taking place, cause I knew how crazy this guys 'wife to be' was.... I called it and sure enough... glad I put my life first!!!!

Anywho, that was my gossip for the day....

:)

ps. Carrie, you are on the same day? maybe we'll see eachother!

What if he flies to TO since it's cheaper and you two drive together? Air Canada used to go direct Philly to Montreal but now only US Air goes direct, sucky.

Had my interview today and....approved!!!

I won't give a full review of my experience 'cause it pretty much mirrored what most others have written, but I'll highlight a couple of things for those with interviews coming up

I arrived at 7 am (in the rain) and was fourth in line. I left the consulate just after 9:30.

They accepted the new I-134 unnotarized, no questions asked.

My fiance had not filed his 2008 taxes - I took only his 2008 W2 and three paystubs, which were accepted (though I think the next set of interviews take place after the tax filing date has passed so this might not apply)

Make sure to bring two copies of DS156 - they take a copy of DS160, but seem to work from the DS156.

The actual 'interview' took about five minutes - she had me take an oath, read through some of our paperwork from the original application and looked at the photos (but didn't ask about them). Other than confirming a couple of things she had read, she really only asked me one question - how did we meet? That was it.

She did not give me back the photos from the original I-129F. I did get back my original birth certificate and the original divorce decree. They keep the original police certificate.

Everyone I dealt with was friendly and helpful. Just be organized and all will be fine.

Oh me too! I hate studying... It's my most loathed task. I have 3 and a paper to write still and it's just not happening

Congrats g&a!! That's exciting. Thanks for the insight regarding the I-134!

Okay... somewhere in these 47 pages of Montreal Interview info... someone at some point posted something about a picture of the door to actually WAIT at (or perhaps it was directions for finding the right door?). Anyway, I thought it was here, but I can't find it. Then, I thought it was in the reviews. <sigh> Either I'm just stupid or I'm blind. I can't find any of it! So, if someone knows where the post was made regarding the proper door to wait/enter, please share again. I've been sitting here searching for what seems like forever. I'm hoping someone bookmarked it!!! :dead:
