I had bloopered too, and printed only the app of the DS 160 and not the confirmation page, I emailed them, and they asked for me to redo the DS160 on line again.... I actually sent in my DS160 with my P3 (not knowing) and still have copies.... but in my P4, they still ask for a DS156... so I am taking no chances and completing both :)

As for the DS156... than appears to be ok to sign prior to interview... it's the 'DS156K' that needs to be signed in their presence. Two different forms

oi vei!

As for the interviews... I know pretty weird... I know I was on them... only cause I requested a May date...and they said they noted their system... I just didn't expect being assigned a date 3.5 weeks later! It actually really threw us for a loop, and we have had to rearrange all this stuff... but i'm not complaining!

I just am waiting to find out if they expect my son at the interview (I emailed them) and I am still super nervous :( I guess because of all the 'what do you do for a living' questions... what do you intend to do when you get there.... blah blah blah... 'ah, i'm hoping the economy gets better and I won't have to work'.... HAHA!

he good thing is they assign dates first week of April? so I would stay on them and make them note your case.... then call back to make sure they did it

DS 160 is a new form and the Montreal Consulate is still in the pilot program so they most likely ask for both just to safe right now as they transition from DS 156 to DS 160.

I know people think they are very disorganized, but I really don't think they are. I think that things get put into boxes and piles and while they stay in somewhat of an order, when they start a new box, the people at the cut with similar dates sometimes end up in different batches.

For the thousands of applications they get in there, I'm sure they are doing their best.

Steph that is an awesome chart!!

When I email them, I email Montreal Embassy, when I call, I call 202-663-1225, that's DOS, no?

That's where many people called last week and got their dates confirmed by phone. My letter is dated March 26, and I had called on the 24th, and got this not so friendly woman who said there was nothing on my file and I was still waiting.... When I saw that people got dates on Friday, I thought, there is no way.... and I even talked to my fiance that afternoon and we were discussing a May date or even early June... I just figured I would give it a shot... I called and I was waiting in silence for her to check my file... thinking she would say 'no, no updates' and she said 'April 17'.... I lost it! She was not amused... I think it was the same ***** from Monday and she remembered me lol!

Hey all. I went gown shopping today! It's starting to feel like I'm really going to get married soon!

And... I just got off the phone with DOS. The gentleman I talked to said that Montreal did receive Chris' checklist and DS-230, but that they also "need the DS-156 in duplicate." Now I haven't seen Chris' packet 3 or anything, but I looked over the checklist on Wiki here and I didn't see it say that this was to be included with our checklist anywhere. Was DOS just advising us to bring the DS-156 to the interview (whenever it happens)? Or was Chris supposed to send the DS-156 with the checklist and DS-230? I'm so sick of this process!

So I also started working on a new spreadsheet for those of us going through Montreal. I'm quite the noob with Google Docs, so it may take some tweaking.

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pF7...b9kOA&hl=en

Let me know what you all think (am I missing anyone? Should I add any columns? etc...?). It's organized by interview date (or lack thereof). The old spreadsheet was sorted by the "Entered Montreal Waiting List." I don't know where to get this info other than having you all PM me your dates. So if you all could do that, I would really appreciate it!

And I'm sorry if someone else has started a new spreadsheet... If anyone else wants to take over, let me know! I don't wanna step on any toes here. :)

~Stephanie

Stephanie, that spreadsheet is terrific! Do you want us to send you a message if we have updates or just post them in out timeline? Thank you SOOOO much for doing this! :)

Where can I find the DS156? i'll try searching now...

Fill out the DS-156 online here: http://evisaforms.state.gov/

Found it! Thanks guys...

I completed the form, for myself and my son, and printed 2 copies each.

I'm almost done putting my file together :)

I think the week prior to our interview, I'm going to post a list of "new stuff" that we're taking with us to the interview, as well as a generic list of things we've put into our binder. I'd love some advice once I've got the list of schtuff organized! Everyone here has been so helpful! Between Poprocks and Huggles, you two have been awesome at asking questions. Thanks! I haven't hda much time to sit down and really go through all the information posted, and when I do, I think of questions and you two have already asked them. You're wonderful!!!

I'm SOOOOOO thankful I came across VJ and decided to become a member! So much easier when I can ask questions and have "real people" answer them!!! Once I get myself back into reality, I'm going to start making sure we've got all our info for the interview. :)

There is an option at the end to print the whole application - it's right beside the button that says print the confirmation page - you have to click each button separately and then they print separately. There is also a third button that says 'email the application'

Honestly, if you feel better filling it out again that is probably your best bet. But, sounds like they are find with just bringing in the confirmation page only.

The benefit to saving the file is that if you do decide to fill it out again, it will be very quick!

Sapphire, I think that's the solution!

Francie, go back to the website, and reload the dat file. Since you've already saved it, you can open it back up with your saved answers! From there, print each page. I know we started the form and had to come back to it... when we saved it again, it gave us another dat file name, but the info previously saved was still there. Good luck!!!

Well, no she'll get a new barcode - but that's totally fine. I filled out mine twice and it was fine. Just upload the DAT file and then finish it and print the application AND confirmation page again (You'll have a new barcode).

As long as the bar codes match and the version they have on file matches the bar codes... there ya have it! Ta daaaa!!! :)
