I GOT A DATE!!!!! I JUST CALLED!!!! APRIL 17th!!!!!!! I am so excited!!!!

But i'm also really upset... we have a very important wedding that we were req'd to attend on April 18th....now my fiance is all flustered, cause I cannot travel to US until 1st week of June when I move down :( He thinks I pushed to the point that I got us 'overly' bumped.... #######! It's someone elses wedding....he feels odd going alone.... I don't think I should reschedule my interview date for a couple who's wedding is the day after...did I mention that the wedding may not even take place cause they have been fighting like cats and dogs over the pre-nup???? lol!

I think, my life comes first... or am I being selfish?

How easy is it to reschedule... i'm worried i'll get thrown back into que...and forgotten or get an undesirable date....

Talk about bittersweet

Do not reschedule. That could give you another 3-4 month wait. I mean, is someone else's wedding worth that kind of wait?! To me it isn't. If that wedding is that important to him, he can go alone. Just my opinion.

The couple will understand. If they're getting married, I can assure you that they just want to see everyone else in their lives surrounded by love and happiness. And I can only presume that they do not want to see a couple in love waiting any longer to be together.

Send them a nice message prior to the wedding and explain your absence and how you wish them the very best. Send a nice gift. If he doesn't want to go alone, tell him to bring a friend.

poprocks I am soo excited you got the interview soo quick! Did I see a post from you before that said that you called DoS and requested the earliest date possible? Or am I confusing some other post from somewhere else?

Thanks guys... you are right, NOOOOOOOO WAY i'm rescheduling!!!!! my fiance is this very organzied calculated person, as soon as something comes out of left field, he panics.... he'll get over it.... this person ngetting married is a very good business contact.... thanks but no thanks, our life comes first!!!!!!

And yes, both Julybride and myself who sent our stuff in 1st week of March sent in emails requesting earlier dates because of our weddings.... I called a few times and they confirmed that their system showed our wedding in June and we needed a date before then.... not sure if that actually helped, but I did stay on them with weekly calls and emails.... they do say the squeakiest wheel gets oiled!!!! lol! good luck to everyone else.... I am so super nervous now, thats 3 weeks.... I hope i'm organized.... you know i'm gonna post a thread with my file contents and looking for feedback! lol!

I feel like that Ikea commercial where that woman checks her receipt and thinks she paid less.... runs out to her car thinking she made out like a bandit, screaming at her husband.... "START THE CAR'!!!! WOOOOHOOOOO! HAHA! :)

Do we need 2 photos for interview?

Yes, you needed three for your medical, and two for the interview. I actually need another one because I didn't upload a picture with the DS-160. So on the confirmation page it told me to bring a picture along with it. Take care.

You're on the 17th too right? I was told 8am... or is that the standard time they tell everyone?

We were told the 16th at 8:30. So, I'm not sure about the time thing. Hmmm...

I think it is SO cool that the bunch of us here on VJ all have dates around each other with close times!

For those who were hoping to have a date... as cliche as it may sound... it will happen.

Thank you to everyone who kept us going! You are all AMAZING!!!!! :star:

And you guys were all worried you wouldn't get it before July!!

Yeah, and now I feel like a complete dork! LOL All that worrying and stressing... but at the time, I guess that's what I had to do. Just knowing the date is BEFORE July, that's all I wanted to know. I still can not believe it actually happened - that we got a date!

Thanks for all your kindness and words of support... you've definitely made this a bit easier, Sapphire! :star:

I sent my packet on the 2nd week of March and they didn't have anything yesterday :(

I had sent them mid-march an email asking for a date before June 1st and they hadreplied

It has been noted, although we cannot make promises, we will try.

Thank you

I will call again next week and confirm it's noted and the DOS can see it (thanks for the tip poprocks)

I hope they'll have a date soon for me too! I'm so jealous now of you guys now but so excited too!! The end is close for you :)

I called about every 8 days. Just enough for them to know I was checking, but not enough to be stalking. :P I also sent 2 emails, I believe. From the delivery date, it takes another 5 business days for them to "log" your info into the system. From there, the calls and emails started!

Just so you guys know about the time thing - it always says 8:30 - BUT if you go line up at 7 a.m., the doors open at around 7:30 a.m. and it's first come first serve.... so if you're one of the first you're out by 10 a.m.

My advice is to go early so you are one of the first!

I'm gonna get all my proof organized, and will then post what I have, so you guys can give me feedback :) I know we have to have originals of everything, and a copy made for them to keep. Do the copies need to be notarized, or are they happy just viewing originals?

Ill post it this week :)

Omg, 3 weeks to interview!!!!!! I could burst from excitment :)
