Does the I-134 have to be notarized???

If you use the new October 2008 edition from the USCIS website, it does not require notarization.

I confirmed this with Montreal before my interview and used them at the interview without a problem.

Did you call and found out your date? if they schedule them first week of the month, how long did it take for it to show on their system...you called in and found out?

They sent their packet in January, so for us, who sent it back during the first 2 weeks for March, we can hope for May-June

But May is better, even April, I'll take April

Hey guys, April 17th.......thanks really soon. I got my medical booked for the Monday the 13th. They are open Easter Monday. Thank GOD..since I need three full business days. Now to figure out if I have enough $$ for the whole week long adventure. Congrats to all who got their dates.

I called Weds and got a not so friendly person....Do they log every time you call?

If they book interviews the first week of each month, is there any benefit to even call this week or next?

That is weird. Although when I first went online to do it I loaded up my picture and it said it didn't meet requirements so it wouldn't let me continue. Then for two days I couldn't get on the website to do it. Then on the third day, it let me on, and it let me try again with a different picture and it still didn't meet requirements but this time it allowed me to continued. I assumed they were down for maintenance making changes to the online form.

I was a little nervious sending it without the picture but the confirmation printed off with directions to bring to the consulate with a picture attached. I then emailed the consulate and they said everything is good to go.

So I guess everyone who sent their packet 3 a few weeks ago is going to be nerveous at each beginning of the month. That is good to know though so if we're not scheduled the first week of April then we have another month to kill and wait for May

I don't mean to burst your bubble, but May is unrealistic. I would aim for June for you, perhaps MAYBE even July.

It makes it easier to wait if you set yourself up for realistic expectations. I sent my packet 3 in January 20th and am still waiting for an interview. I am HOPING for April (VERY slim chance) but think May is a better bet. One of the Montreal operators even told me maybe JUNE. I think he had no clue though.

Thank you everyone for the reply. I read on the photo instruction page that pictures need to be Canadian size. I don't know why it says that. I would think it should be US standard size.

Did you notice on one of the sheets from the consulate "Information on Photographs for Immigrant and K Visa Applicants" it gives photo requirements 2" by2" and then the measurements of the head and then at the bottom it says NOTE: This photograph standard is the same as that of a Canadian Passport Photograph.

That statement is incorrect, a canadian passport photo according to the website says they have to be 2" by 2 and 3/4". Makes you wonder how sticky they would be if you actually did have Canadian Passport Photos done.

i also called wednesday and i got an unfriendly woman and said that" there has been no update since the last time you called yesterday" . i was embarrased that it made me not want to call till next week. but i still called this morning to find out that i got my interview.

But i'm also really upset... we have a very important wedding that we were req'd to attend on April 18th....now my fiance is all flustered, cause I cannot travel to US until 1st week of June when I move down He thinks I pushed to the point that I got us 'overly' bumped.... #######! It's someone elses wedding....he feels odd going alone.... I don't think I should reschedule my interview date for a couple who's wedding is the day after...did I mention that the wedding may not even take place cause they have been fighting like cats and dogs over the pre-nup???? lol!

I think, my life comes first... or am I being selfish?

How easy is it to reschedule... i'm worried i'll get thrown back into que...and forgotten or get an undesirable date....

Do not reschedule. That could give you another 3-4 month wait. I mean, is someone else's wedding worth that kind of wait?! To me it isn't. If that wedding is that important to him, he can go alone. Just my opinion.

The couple will understand. If they're getting married, I can assure you that they just want to see everyone else in their lives surrounded by love and happiness. And I can only presume that they do not want to see a couple in love waiting any longer to be together.

Send them a nice message prior to the wedding and explain your absence and how you wish them the very best. Send a nice gift. If he doesn't want to go alone, tell him to bring a friend.
