That is weird. Although when I first went online to do it I loaded up my picture and it said it didn't meet requirements so it wouldn't let me continue. Then for two days I couldn't get on the website to do it. Then on the third day, it let me on, and it let me try again with a different picture and it still didn't meet requirements but this time it allowed me to continued. I assumed they were down for maintenance making changes to the online form.

I was a little nervious sending it without the picture but the confirmation printed off with directions to bring to the consulate with a picture attached. I then emailed the consulate and they said everything is good to go.

So I guess everyone who sent their packet 3 a few weeks ago is going to be nerveous at each beginning of the month. That is good to know though so if we're not scheduled the first week of April then we have another month to kill and wait for May

I don't mean to burst your bubble, but May is unrealistic. I would aim for June for you, perhaps MAYBE even July.

It makes it easier to wait if you set yourself up for realistic expectations. I sent my packet 3 in January 20th and am still waiting for an interview. I am HOPING for April (VERY slim chance) but think May is a better bet. One of the Montreal operators even told me maybe JUNE. I think he had no clue though.

From my understand first of April for May/June appointments. I think April is pretty well a done deal, but you never know. You and I are only a week apart form the packet 3. I got an email from the consulate today

Please disregard our previous response. Your file is pending at our office and is in queue for appointment scheduling. As soon as a date is available we will mail you a letter giving you the date and time of the interview.

Regards,

Operator 5

Keeping my fingers crossed for a May appointment! Good luck on yours.

I would be HIGHLY annoyed/peeved/enraged etc. if I had to wait until June. We applied for our K1 back in May of '08 and because of this and that (on their part, of course) are STILL waiting.

I am planning for May. If it is June, a nice letter will be handed out to someone. I have seen ppl hand in their P3 later than myself and have already had an interview. There needs to be fairness and some sort of system laid out better to accommodate everyone and make sure it really is first come first serve.

I think as soon as ANYONE waiting for an interview receives info on their appt they should post immediately. :star:

^^ If you sent back your Packet 3 on Jan 20th, then you'll most likely get a May interview.

Who send back their packet 3 after you that had their interview?? I'm curious.

I agree, very lucky. My honey and I are keeping our fingers crossed for a May date, but if its June so be it. Not much a person can do about it.

Stay posiitive, and keep yourself busy! Hey I just came from Tim Hortons and a little cutie two vehicles behind me called the shop and told them he was paying for my coffee and timbit. How sweet is that....and let me tell ya he was yummy! What, a girl can look right... I know..I have my Petie and I love him to death....buts its a free timmie's! LOL He's actually a fellow horse lover friend who I haven't seen in a while. Oh and there was a bonus...I got a free coffee on the roll up the rim cup he bought me. Aint life grand!

For the DS 160, I just had the fiance take a picture of me in front of a white wall and then shrink it down to size. It wasn't exactly professional looking but the website accepted it first try... The passport image I scanned wouldn't work because it was too pixelated. I believe it said on the first page of the form that you could forgo the picture option and then just bring in an extra photo to the interview instead. Don't quote me on that however... The form itself took me like 20 minutes maybe, I didn't have any issues, but I had all my info sitting in front of me while I did it, so It make it a lot easier.

I think we all need to breathe and relax. Being angry and stressed out isn't going to get anyone an interview any sooner! It is frustrating, for sure, and its completely insane that things don't always seem to follow a logical order, but its the unfortunate state of the bureaucracy!

carrieandadrian11- do you know when Montreal physically received your packet 3? Maybe its possible that Rob and Mel overnighted it and Montreal received their packet the same day or the day after and yours took a couple days to get there? Just a thought, I have no idea.

Yeah, I mean I'm not angry, it is what it is :)

I overnighted it January 19th. Canada Post messed up and it actually got there 2 days later (but I got a full refund, so it was sent for free cha-ching!!). So I guess it got there January 23rd or so. I forget, i don't have info in front of me, I just know it was 2-3 days after Jan.19th.

I am just frustrated because I have been waiting 3 months longer than I should have been (went to wrong consulate and sat somewhere for 3 months). Maybe my case needs extra time since I lived overseas for several years. Who knows :)

I mean it isn't the end of the world. I have been able to spend the last few months with fiancé but I just want this to hurry up and be over with. I wanna start my life!!! :)

Oh no, I totally understand. The angry comment wasn't necessarily directed towards you, its towards everyone, myself included (especially myself...) Ha. I play all calm and cool all the time but I'm not... not at all. :blush

That's insane, this entire process is going to take you over a year. I hope things happen for you in a more speedy manner! We filed in October of '08, so in reality I don't have much to complain about... not yet anyways.

That sucks Carrie - I totally see what you mean... Rob and Mel definitely were lucky... and I can totally see how sending it to the wrong Consulate would suck too..

But, like Bauser said easier, it's a good feeling knowing that there is more waiting behind you than in front of you.

Back in October 08 when We got engaged I wasnot even aware that my fiance who is a canadian citizen can't just move here and we get married and file for Green card. I though with her not needing visa to travel to US. She can just come and we get married in a few months. I asked my Attorney and he told me She can not do that. that her intent would be to come and marry me, and USCIS would deny her AOS and she would have to go back. And I also have heard arguments that one can come for visit and then decide to get married while here and stay and file for AOS. any one has any thoughs about this? Do we have anybody that is marrying Canadian citizen and wants to move to Canada. Do they have to go through the same process our canadians fiance and spouse are going through. We are fortunate taht we are close and can visit each other every month or so, But it's still frustrating that we can't be with our loved one and start our lives together until this waiting time passes. please post your thoughts, I like to hear from other people who are in my shoes.

Mel was actually supposed to receive the package 3 in the middle of November, not the beginning of January. I was on the phone and emailing the consulate every day to find out the status of our file. They couldn't determine whether it was their fault, or that of Canada Post. I think preparation and diligence got us our interview to be scheduled when it was supposed to rather than having our case sent to the bottom of the pile again.

Sooo if interviews are scheduled at the beginning of each month are those the interviews for that month or for the following month? Didnt see too many people with April interviews scheduled already

Actually looking at your NOA2 date, which was right before mine, that makes a lot of sense.

AmberL - I didn't see that many schedule for April either, but there were a couple. You have to remember that VisaJourney applications probably only account for 2% of the total applications, so there just may not have been any visajourney interviews in April. That's just my theory though, who knows if that's true.

My NOA2 was October 18th but, like I said, they sent it to the wrong consulate.

So.....I mean if it is the case that they look at NOA2 dates, I would have been before you all ;)

Like I said, who knows why. We sent a letter to Montreal about the whole consulate confusion thing and thought (hoped) that since all the confusion we would be put at top of line (or near the front) in Montreal. But apparently that didn't happen. We aren't overly aggressive people when it comes to these things. Well, I am but he isn't :P I have been here with him the last 2 months so, it makes the process easier on us/me not as eager to get a date tomorrow kind of thing.

Anyway, if it is not May believe me, we will be aggressive :D
