I want to try that... cause my son will be out of school, and this condo is costing me $2000 a month!!!!! At least when my lease is up June 1st, I can get outta here and save that money for my move... i'll let the movers come get my stuff... they take it to a warehouse anyways....and I can schedule a delivery for a month or so later when I am there.... I will just pack two suitcases for me and my son... I will get a letter from my ex husband saying that he has a scheduled visit for like two weeks after that (cause we drive over and don't have a return ticket) that should be a good tie?

And then this way, I can be with my fiance and I can start getting my son enrolled in school etc... I would hate to run around all of July, wedding, school, DMV, Post office...papers.... AGHHHH!

I'm gonna ask my lawyer if he thinks it's a good idea....

CAll the DOS, they'll tell you!

If you have a case #, they'll tell you to and they can even tell if packet 3 has been sent to you already.

Ensure u put ur case # on the subject line

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I was trying to look at the tables of timelines to see what month of packet 3 repliers are still waiting for the interview? Hard to tell tho, not sure of some people who have just not been updating their profiles recently. But from what I am seeing it is January and safe to estimate 4 months-ish to interview? And most people get about a month notice of when the interview is? I know a lot of people are waiting, I'm just getting anxious too.

I sent my P3 in January 20th and I have yet to hear anything. DOS says we are just waiting for an interview date and they claim to have no clue when it will be. Montreal has said different things depending on which operator emails me back, and if they have had their morning coffee or not ;) The last time I emailed I think I got a crankpot who simply said, "Could be May or June, Thanks". While a week before that i got an apologetic chap who said, "Unfortunately, it shouldn't be much longer, we will email you as soon as a date is given". So, take whatever info you get from anywhere with a grain of salt and just try to to be patient.

I am 95% sure I will have a May interview. But................stranger things have happened.

Good luck :) Plan for 4 months tho, it makes waiting easier :)

I'd say that's the most realistic assumption. About 4 months to get your interview with 1 month's notice.

Some people are a bit faster, but I haven't noticed any that are much longer at all.

Actually there is someone on here that has a link to such a spreadsheet...if I remember correctly it tracked Canadians from the NOA1 right to the interview. I can't for the life of me remember who that was........anyone also remember it?

I'm actually not sure, I thought it tracked it from the NOA1 stage, but this could be it cause I do remember it being all colorful! LOL THANKS...appreciate it.

Well i couldn't do it guys..I couldn't hold out to Friday to call on check on the interview. I got "Sarah", who I have talked to before. She is very nice. There wasn't one schedule so I asked her, (I told her I didn't want to keep calling and bothering them ) do they book throughout the month and she said no, usually in the first week of each month is when they schedule the next batch. Then they don't do anymore usually till the next month. So she said for me to wait till after the first week of April and hopefully my date will be scheduled then. YEAH! I feel better now, so I can wait. I can concentrate on selling my properties and getting other things done. Oh, and quick qestion, has anyone booked their room through hotwire (excellent rates) and stayed longer at their hotel then they originally booked at the same rate? Thanks
