I would assume that on dry days people will actually make a line based on who got there first. So get there first! After about 10-20 minutes of standing there a huge crowd forms, so time is actually of the essence if you want to get out at a decent hour and not make yourself a nervous wreck.

Yeah, the group on the 18th was pretty civil and stayed in line; was dry all morning.

Kizza, when is the last time you called to know if you have an interview date set up? I'll maybe make my fiancé call the DoS tomorrow to see if the P3 is at least log in the computer. I really hope we didn't miss it by just a couple days and that they'll be very nice and kind to give us a date very soon! tongue.gif

Matt called on Tuesday. He wants to call again today, but Im not expecting any good news for a few weeks at the very least.

Seems to me like in November, when they scheduled interviews, it had been 4 months since the last scheduling, in January, 3 months, in March, 2 months... so maybe they are trying to stay on top of it, and we'll be lucky and get interviews scheduled in April, for June. Fingers & toes crossed. smile.gif

Im hoping I wont get the very last inteview date in the next batch, since I will have pretty much the first pckt 3 logged after the last scheduling and they seem to be working backwards. Im really hoping to be able to attend my best friend's wedding in the states in August. But with my luck so far...

Does anybody know? I sent back my P3 last friday, i know MTL received it monday morning 7:50am. My fiancé just called DoS and asked if the packet was log in their computer, but all they said to him is that MTL received my P3 03/26 (which is today). If i know it was delivered monday morning, does that mean it was logged in today? (Does DoS know when they received it, or they only know they received it when it's log in?)

Edit: Oh thanks Kizza, let's get in touch about this, since we're about 1 week difference for the P3

I was logged at the beginning of Nov, and my interview isn't until Mar 30th (so the last of the group). And I am fairly sure I was one of the earlier ones logged in this batch of interviews. So I don't think it has anything to do with when you were logged....more on what pile you happen to be in!!

That's what I mean... it seems like the people who got logged earlier in the group end up with the last interviews of the group.

Oh well... out of our hands. I'll hope to be in a good pile then! wink.gif

I'm pretty sure when i was calling to see if they had logged mine. They never once said "yes they received it" It was always "You were sent packet 3 on this day..." I would say i was calling to see if they had logged it..

So it would make me think that when it shows up in the DOS system it must be logged... but i have been wrong a few times in my life. (:

kizza, i hope they realize they dont have enough interviews for the month of May. Seeing as the last one among us is the 20th. I really hope it isnt like this last time for you. As happy as i am that most people got their interview and it's only a matter of a couple weeks that separate us... and i shouldnt be complaining but it still kinda irks me that i am pretty much last and the one of the first to send packet 3 back LOL

I am now done grumbling.

Oh thanks Bevie, yeah i think it's because it was logged in.. Wooohooo!! Now i'm REALLY OFFICIALLY waiting for an interview date, so crazy! And it's true there's not a lot of interviews in May, and we're at the end of March already, they might give us a date very soon!

thanks Bevie. yeah, wouldnt it be nice if they added some interviews in May!

It is a weird system they are using, isnt it? You would think they'd go by the dates the files were entered in the computer... nevermind piles of files.

Sure a few weeks dont make much of a difference at this point, but still, it's just odd, and if you are trying to make plans and are just waiting to get your visa to move, that is really frustrating.

yeah AandB, I think thats right... if they say they received your file, it means they logged it. Congrats! :)

Just wondering how long it took those of you who have had interviews recently to receive your approval in the mail... I'm trying to get my flight booked before prices jump again, but I want to make sure I can actually get on the plane, hah. I've heard that they're willing to speed things up if time is running short (ie: your wedding is 16 days after your interview  ) ... can anyone confirm that?

Thanks :)

I would be leary of booking a flight until you actually have the visa in hand. Kayla*Matthew has a thread where they have been waiting for over 2 weeks for Matthew's visa to come from Montreal to an address in Montreal.

My fiance' just called to tell me he was headed home after his medical exam in Toronto! He said it took him about 2 hours to go through everything but it was fairly simple, just a lot of waiting around in between people doing things (drawing blood, taking x-ray, seeing doctor, etc.) I am glad is over! Twenty six days to his interview!
