I don't know if it's working. Is the DS-160 need to be sent online? Once i filled it, i can't seem to be able to do anything else with it if i don't upload the picture.. Can i just print it, and all the form will be printed with the receipt even if i don't have the picture uploaded?

Thanks for the reply! Very useful!!

As i was reading the papers, i saw that i need to provide an Evidence of domicile... Do i need to do that for the K-1 Visa? I read somewhere it's not useful for the K-1?

Thanks y'all :)

lol well he has his state id and drivers licence :P thats all you need really and your submitting i134 with the w2 and tax transcripts. it's not like we need to prove that since we are doing this so we can move to the usa in the first place

Yeah i don't have these pictures yet.. i thought i could wait to take them. I'll just complete the application and have them for the interview!

Thanks for answering my questions so fast!

ya since the passport pics are in two's you will need 2 for the interview and may as well make the other 2 for the ds160. i tried to use a pic from my cam phone on a white background but it went phoey no good lol.

Well that's what I thought, the system will not recognize it until you at least make an effort to upload a picture. For me, it said upload failed and then it reminded to me to carry pictures with me at the interview. Then I was able to print the form and the confirmation page with the bar code. So, get the pictures ready as you will need them for your medical as well. And then, proceed accordingly!

Cheers,

KnR

you also have an option to email yourself the confirmation page as well. not sure if it sends all 4 pages of the form with it though.

No, you can only email the confirmation page, not the application.

Personally I'll wait until I get my interview date to book the medical... I think that's what most people do in Montreal.

I dont think there is much of a wait to get an appointment.

Its about 2 weeks right now, I dont have an interview date yet, (P3 has been with Montreal since Feb 2 *sadfase*) but I wanted to get it out of the way since its good for 6 months so I called and booked it. Also It just made me feel like things are still progressing if I get it done, even though Ive heard not a peep from Montreal in a while.

Apr 5 for my Medical at least...Is it sad that Im excited?

I'm just gonna go get a set of 2 pics today and try to upload it on the form, thanks!

And i'm gonna go get my police check, i hope it doesn't take too long to do :)

I already have 2 forms completed, and the one online almost done, only needs my picture. I'll complete the last form today and i'm ready to send it tonight or monday!! Things are moving well!!

Anything that makes you feel like progressing can be a huge help. And as you most certainly will have a date within six months, there's no harm in getting it out of the way. Except that, once you do receive an interview date, you'll be itching to do something and won't have anything left to get done! Hehe.

The good thing is, if you happen to be like some of the cases we've seen where you're only given a couple of weeks notice for the interview, you won't have to worry about rushing to get it done should your schedule be difficult to navigate.

Hah, I wish, I have a house to pack!

Id love to be one of those people that can just pack up my car and bail across the border once everything is done though. Must be nice! :)

Mine was that size as well, with all of the papers organized into twin-pocket folders inside. It was incredible overkill, but it certainly helped dissuade any feelings of unpreparedness.

We had already submitted a copy of my fiance's passport in our initial petition, along with a copy of his birth certificate, so we did not bring another. He was, however, present with me at the interview, with his Florida State ID on hand in case they wanted further proof of where we were headed once approved. None of that, however, is a requirement.

A quick list as I recall, just for reference:

- Your passport

- DS156, DS156k, DS160 confirmation page (these are not required, as the consulate SHOULD have it.. but I brought mine just in case)

- Long-form birth certificate (I also brought my short-form, just in case)

- Police certificate issued within the past year

- Updated letter of intent from USC

- Affidavit of Support with proof like tax records, employment letter, pay stubs, etc. (Bring copies, they keep these!)

- Any prior marriage/death/divorce certificates if applicable

- Any court or child documents if needed

- Proof of ongoing relationship (which they will most likely not ask to see, but again, just in case)

- Original documents of anything you sent in with the initial petition

- Canada Post Xpresspost mailer size 314mm x 394 mm (12"x15" - XpressPost Regional Pack size)

- Sealed envelope from medical exam

- Interview letter

- $131 USD cash (do not bring CAN$ if possible.. the exchange rate as I recall was a rip-off)

- 2x US-sized passport photos (Bring three if you didn't attach a photo to the DS-160)

Hope that helps!
