Bo called DOS today - no interview date set yet, no idea of a timeline, but check back next week. I'm sure it's the same speel others have been getting for awhile :) ( this was our first time calling).

Am I able to call DoS as the beneficiary, or does it have to be the petitioner?

What a shite weekend...trying to save money for the enevidible (sp?) trip to MTL, so I couldn't travel to Halifax for a friend's B.Rette party :S Booo...

Oh, and it rained for 4 days straight...

Ok, I'm done grumbling for the day :) How is everyone else farring anyway?

Same here, called the DOS today and still nothing (I'm the petitioner btw and either can call). I've decided that I'm going to call everyday for the next two weeks because I HAVE to know if it's still going to be a possibility to have David home before Christmas. After that, hope is gone, so I'll just let it be till after the holidays =(

We are now discussing the possibility of my daughter and I flying up to Canada to spend a week if we don't get that interview date in the next two weeks....it's just too hard to not be all together during Christmas......*sigh* It's not something we really can afford, but we are missing each other SOOOOOOO much....you all know what I'm talking about...

Good luck all you MTL waitees =)

Yeah, we're going to try again on Friday, but things are not looking good. I'm starting to really notice the effect on me lately - work is getting harder to concentrate on. I just wish they could give us an idea....

Happy Thanksgiving next week to all you USers. Maybe I'll cook a turkey just to feel more like I'm there :)

Well my fellow waitees......the big event has finally occurred. I called today and we have an interview date. That's the good news......and now for the bad news. It's FEBRUARY 25th.

On the one hand I am SO relieved to finally have a date....on the other..........I can't believe it is 3 months away. I feel like I'm shell shocked.

I was thinking January at the latest and now I know that he wont be home until March.....what a let down *sigh*

Good luck to the rest of us, and have a great weekend everyone.

Thanks for the congrats =) Now that I've had a few days to process it, it doesn't seem all that bad. I'm really REALLY trying to put a positive spin on it. 1..David will have time to recoup the money we'll spend on the trip I'm making up there next month 2...we'll only have to be apart two more months, that's the shortest time yet that we've had to endure 3...I'll be getting my tax return around that time, so perhaps I can fly up and come home with him, we'll see.

So, yes, I was sad about how far out it was scheduled at first, but you're right, at least we KNOW now and aren't killing ourselves with wondering. Good luck everyone!, I'm hoping that you all hear something this week, or very soon thereafter.

As much as I was hoping that perhaps they were mistaken about the Feb date...my fiance got his packet 4 a few days ago, and yes the date in Feb is confirmed. *sigh*

But, it's nice to see it in black and white, and have a date to look forward to. Good luck everyone, I really hope you all hear something soon!

I havent called in over a week, and I think I'm just going to stop for awhile. If you havent heard anything Angie, then I won't either * week and a half after you*

I'm pretty much useless these days...I don't know what they're doing in Montreal, but they're obviously not being overly productive.

I also got my schedule for January today for work...cut back to 72 hours for the whole month - boss wants to gove hours to those that are 'staying'. I have no idea what I'm going to do...

I also got my schedule for January today for work...cut back to 72 hours for the whole month - boss wants to gove hours to those that are 'staying'. I have no idea what I'm going to do...

isn't it frustrating? i got similar problem like you do..you see, I quit my job 2 weeks ago,I've been putting up with the people I worked with for a long time ...but i've got it up over my head so I just quit as in I walked out in the middle of my working hours bec I told myself I wasn't staying anyways so I don't have to put up with them anymore...i was expecting to get an interview by Dec...and now it messed everything up...If I only knew that we wouldn't be hearing anything from Montreal until before Xmas I would've stayed in my job and stretched out my patience a little bit more..

and now I don't even know if I'll find a job or not (although i"ve been looking around.)because If I do, im not sure if im going to stay for long,,It wouldn't be fair for whoever is gonna hire me....

Im just trying to find a good reason as to why these are all happening to us...maybe there is a reasonable thing behind all these ..

you might think i'm insane but i'm just trying to calm myself down :bonk:

I hope there will be a good news for all of us this week...

We're still waiting....

I called the DOS yesterday to check on our status and still no appointment set. In another week, it will be three months since they have received our Packet 3; we're about 11 weeks in. At this point we're assuming Feb/March/April, but who knows. I'll keep calling once or twice a week to see if there's anything happening.

Fingers crossed for all the waitees!

Sorry to hear that no one has heard anything =( But as we are all well aware by now, you just can't predict when things will happen...there's just no rhyme or reason at all to how things get done, which makes it all the more frustrating!!

My fingers are crossed for all of you!...good luck everyone!
