Does anyone know if you are allowed to pick up the visa a couple days later or if they have to be mailed? Anyone know how long it takes to come in the mail? I would get in my car and start driving to NC after the interview if I could.

Depends on which CO you get. A couple people were able to get theirs the day of or 2 days later, some just say "nope, have to be mailed" but you'd usually get it by at least 2 weeks after your interview.

I hadn't given much thought yet to the pick up visa/mail visa thing. Can we give them an overnight envelope to mail it to us? Our interview is on a Friday so unless they'll let us pick it up the same day, we will have to go with mail. I was hoping a week though so we could get him moved over the Easter holiday. Hmmm... just when you think an interview date will help plan the next step...

Well you can give them an overnight envelope (Xpresspost), that's what most of us did.

I'll tell you, my interview was on a Friday and I had my Passport and documents back by the next Thursday.

Thanks Peachey! Looks like overnight mail and crossed fingers that it returns as quickly as yours did.

I was hoping a week though so we could get him moved over the Easter holiday.

Assuming all goes well at our interview and he receives the docs back by the 29th, he's planning on making the drive to be here by Easter. That would be so fantastic!

Yeah, that's what I used, essentially the envelope was put in the mail Monday evening, and got to me on Thursday.

wow, I just happen to have my p4 with me and the size of the envelope is 314mm x 394mm (12" X 15") it's the biggest one they have. I think mine was slightly different dimensions (330x390 I think) but they took it no matter, it just has to be big enough, and Xpresspost is your ONLY option. No Fedex, UPS, Purolator.

ya expresspost is annoying. when i sent back my p3 they couldtn' track it cuz all the expresspost tracking was borked..i spent so much on ld and roaming on hold iwth them during xmas to find out what happend to my packet. i wish we could use other courrires..hell i'd preset it up and pay for it no problemo!..i jsut hate CP..and USPS is not better. takes two weeks to send somethign from here to chicago..soemtimes 3..totally outrageous.

Yea, thats the one I had & they took it. Slightly different size, but it was Expresspost Regional & it was ok.
