What seems to be the average amount of time from the embassy receiving your information from the consulate, the embassy logging that information, and then the embassy sending out packet 3? I am trying to get my fiance' prepped for the quick work of filling out packet 3 that needs to be done so it can get returned quickly to put us in the queue for an interview date. I am hoping our NOA2 will be processed by the end of this month but just trying to learn all I can for the next step.

Hey guys, it took them a month to log my packet 3. Then 3 months after that for the interview. A bunch of us K1s got scheduled in November, and some people got less than 2 weeks notice of their interview dates.

Hang in there, you'll get your interviews in no time. Take this time to spend time with family and friends that you won't get to see as much after you move.

Also, there's some CR1 people who have been waiting since September (actually, one in July). So I assume once they've cleared up that backlog they'll start scheduling everyone again. Don't take my word tho, I don't work there :P

12/31/2009 - Marriage

07/21/2010 - AOS approved

08/04/2010 - Green Card received (and it's actually green!)

05/30/2012 - Sent ROC packet to VSC

06/08/2012 - Received NOA1 for ROC (Dated 06/04/2012)

Definitley. Try not to get too caught up in the process & spend time with your family/friends.

So hopefully that means they're going to start scheduling in batches. I sure hope so.

I know I've got no right to complain because there's been people waiting longer than me for an interview date, but it still sucks. :( Booh. I just want one Canadian. One! They need to quit being to stingy and just give him to me already!!! I promise to take good care of him and feed him, love him, water him, play with him, and let him out to pee once in a while. :luv:

Maybe if I send them a letter with a list of my promises they'll schedule our interview...hmmm...either that or they'll send me a Beagle. Either way, it's a win-win! lol

Each of us wants just one Canadian, each :)

I am sure the people at Montreal are working as quickly as they can. I am just praying that the interviewers and other works stay well, that the weather does not keep them from work, and that they will be able to process our materials as quickly as possible. I will be more excited when I see more of us here saying an interview is scheduled especially as I get closer and closer to getting my NOA2 and really, really wanting my fiance' to get his interview.

I get the same woman every time I call. She once told me she'd talk to me tomorrow. I was sooo embarrassed. But I really wonder how I keep getting the same woman. I've never been hung up on, thank goodness. I would have pitched a holy fit if they had.

I got my NOA2 tonight at 8:15 p.m. (I was surprised people were working that late at the California Service Center but I am sure glad they did although it may just be the computer auto-updating). Now to wait for the application to get through the NVC and then on to MONTREAL! I am so excited. Tried to call my fiance' but he took the phone off the hook for the night. He had just hung up with me from our evenings talk but I had to check my email just one more time to see if the NOA2 was there and IT WAS!

Now I have to get ready to sit back and wait some more. But I am glad one step is cleared now on to the next step.

I am glad that the California Service Center has sped up. The wait for the Montreal Consulate will likely make up for it though. My fiance' and I are hoping to get married July 11, 2010. But until we have an interview date really planning for the wedding is at a standstill. I just hope that the "hiring of new staff for Montreal" that someone talked about on this forum really is the case. I hope that all of you with NOA2s before me get your interview dates scheduled soon.

Somewhat. You can do a whole lot of looking around & deciding, just can't book anything. That way when you get approved(I wouldn't book anything until you get the approval at the interview), all you have to do is call the places you checked out & book/order it.

Oh, yes, I know what I want and where I want for the wedding. But we haven't booked anything officially although the church I want takes "my wedding application" to church board in order for me to marry there so I am actually reserving a date at my church for July 11, 2010 with the understanding that the date may be pushed back due to immigration issues. Everything else that requires booking (reception, photographer, etc) has not and will not have money laid down for it until we know the visa is approved, but we know what we would like. Only so much money to go around.

Priority One: Medical Exam fee

Priority Two: Visa fee paid at consulate

Priority Three: moving expenses

Priority Four: wedding expenses

Can't have a wedding without the groom!
