Awww nuts. So yeah, throwing my little bit in here. I complained a bit about the Montreal backlog, but now that my fiance and I have planned stuff out, we're almost hoping we don't get our interview date until late May, early June-ish!!! We're even thinking about asking if we can schedule it then if they try and put it sooner, lol! I really want to be there with him, but I can't get up to Canada until May, and since I'm really, really afraid of airplanes, he figured he'd just come down and get me, and I could spend my summer vacation up there and we'd have our interview, and then when he brings me back, he could POE then. :D

Knowing my luck? It won't happen this way, LOL. Luckily, though, we just got NOA2 on the 23rd, so we aren't even at NVC yet. Maybe we'll get lucky, hehe...

Mathew and I have our wedding planned and booked for June 26th. At the beginning we were worried that we wouldn't make it, but since things went faster we're hoping for an interview in Feb or March and maybe even April, and POE in May or early June. Seems sad to be all freaking out over every little thing in the process and wanting it to go faster because you're thinking you'll miss your date, but when it comes down to it you may have planned too far off, LOL.

ok so how long does it take for montreal to reply to emails? it's been past 8 working days. and i've had zero reply other than the automated one. can dos let you know as well if you get an interview date or do they just tell you if the packet was logged? Montreal got my p3 on the 22nd, and although i've been busy with david in chicago i'm curious to know when to start calling / emailing / harassing :P to find out a date for my interview.

Yes they can tell you if you have an interview. Its easier to call and pester them about it and only email MTL about questions you may have other than interview dates because they in general either a) never respond, or B) take forever. It can take a week or more for them to log the P3 and then the scheduling...is basically dependant on how busy they are. With the holidays last week and this week they may not have scheduled much but you can call to start bugging them whenever you want :D

My P3 was logged received 11/25. I'm really hoping to have an interview in March sometime, to make our April 9th wedding. If we miss our date because interview isn't scheduled until after, that's fine... But I don't understand why they can't at least schedule it so people can make plans and send out invitations and such. Even if it were months out, at least we know when we can make plans for. It's so frustrating to me...and everyone else I'm sure. I really, really, really hope to know when our interview is by the end of January, otherwise I'll be bawling for sure! Good luck to everyone!

I emailed Montreal once...notice I said once, LOL. I never got a reply and found that DOS is so much easier to get a hold of! They usually know everything you need. Montreal is so backed up I feel sorry for the poor employees there.

hi there!

this may seem like a dumb question but how do you know when montreal receives your packet 3? I see alot of your timelines say around 3 days. Did you send it registered mail or something? I sent mine from the States on December 14th just by regular mail. Is there a way to find out when they got the packet?

Thanks!

Hi,

There's a difference in when the consulate receives the packet and logs it. Even though it shows delivered to MTL, it does not mean that it's logged. For us, we sent it by next day express post and the consulate "supposedly" received it in 2 days. It took 7 days for them to log it, however. Good luck!

Tina

You can call DOS and give them your case # and ask if it has been logged. They can also confirm if all the paperwork they require was included. (I think the # is 202.663.1225....off the top of my head!!) This is also where you can call to find out if an interview has been scheduled.

We sent ours overnight. Montreal got it the next day and logged it on that same day. That was almost a month ago. Still no interview date yet!!

What with the holidays we really haven't even tried calling Dos. DAvid called once and spent 2 hours on hold and gave up. Going to start calling again Monday. Has anyone noticed a time of day when it less busy?

I usually called about 1 or 2 in the afternoon, and was never on hold more than 10 minutes.

I called the other day and had NO wait time. Almost hung up because I thought I dialed the wrong number.

Usually either first thing in the morning or between 1-2 have been the quickest for me to talk to someone.
