I just called and we have an appointment date too- November 20th at 8:00am.

I called me fiance and you would think he'd be excited but he wants me to post-pone the interview because we changed our wedding date to April 29th, and so obviously he can't activate his VISA until February 1st. He says he doesn't want to go that long without seeing me so he'd rather put off the interview.

I am crying right now . . .

Oh no!

BigHug1.jpg

<-- that's a hug.

Explain that it is _not_ worth trying to deal with the Consulate again. You do not know how long the delay could possibly be.

It will be ok.

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

Also, as a transportation option, VIA Rail compared to flying in to Montreal. If you do take VIA, make sure you go to the station that is downtown... not the one on the outside of the city. (Unfortunately, I can' think of their names right now. :( )

ROC

9/24/11 - Mailed I-751 packet to CSC

NOVEMBER 13TH!

NOVEMBER 13TH!!!

OH MY GOD!

JUST ON PERFECT TIMING WITH MY FIANCE'S VISIT!

OMG!!!! We might see each other too! Ill wear a Mickey Mouse ears for the interview so all you visa journeyers know its me, and the USC people in Montreal know I heart America. *SNICKER*

On the serious side, if there are people who are planning to go to Montreal via public transit (Via, megabus, bus), lemme know. The fiance cant come with me anymore bec he has 2 vacation days left unless I can convince him to use his sick leave *CACKLE* and I wouldnt mind travelling with someone to talk to. Ive taken the bus to Montreal (Coach Canada and Megabus has 1 dollar deals right now) and its not horrible at all. If youre scheduled for Nov 13, lemme know -- I would appreciate knowing someone in my hotel or near my hotel, etc.

I am seriously still in shock and the hunny is still in shock too. But Im really, really, really happy.

Finally married... and still married... ;)

I think we'll be taking the train.

Probably the day before the interview.

#######, I better book a medical.

Is it probably a best bet now to go with Montreal since I have hardly any time to get this done?

Oh my god I still need to go get my police certificate!

Oh geeze.

Lol.

The 13th is a Friday.

If you do that, you could actually lose about 3 or 4 months for your interview. You very well could go back to the bottom. In fact, I believe that in order to change your date you need a "valid" reason, not just "I don't like the date."

As for seeing him, the USC can still go to Canada. . . . . . .

I don't know what to do. I told him I couldn't talk to him anymore and hung up the phone. Since March we had been planning a New Year's Day wedding, and then we went with April 29th because it seemed like we wouldn't get an interview until 2010.

I don't even know who to call to try and re-schedule.

If he's game, you could always have the "legal" wedding sooner, and the "ceremony" wedding in April. Just a thought!

Just saying, I hope you guys really just take the interview you got -- they take their time rescheduling don't they?

Anyway, I don't know my *ss from a hole in the ground with all the K1 stuff but if I may say, based on what I've read here -- you should keep and take your date given.

Yeah! You just need to legally show you got married and have the real wedding in April :)

Also, maybe hes also in shock... I find men can be silly (sorry you all men :P) and not really respond the way we want them to respond when we give them big news like this!!!! The fiance's grand response to "WE HAVE AN INTERVIEW DATE!!!!!" is, "Ok" :P

My advice is just to maybe not discuss it today and give you and him time to think. Im sure he will come around!!! I am happy for you to have an interview date and I really hope you guys will be able to work things out :)
