Maybe they're scheduling interviews for replacement staff.

That'd be nice.

Even if it did slow everyone else down.

haha best answer yet!

i'm curious actually, peachey, if you're ahead of me or i'm ahead of you or what. because you sent in your docs before me but you said they were logged in august. we have no way of peering into the big black hole..

fwiw i called at noon and there's no date.

unless they changed their policy and aren't giving dates out now.

No idea.

We mailed it July 14th.

They signed for it July 17th.

They put us in the system making us eligible on August 15th.

I don't know where that puts us... cept SOL.

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

My fiance just called DoS and I've been logged into the system, yay!

That's some good news at least.

Hmm...Varba, I'm going to go against Sarah and tell you that Maria told me to call every day if I like (plus I still don't think its out of the question that someone here might get a December interview and none have been scheduled yet).

Subject: Case# ####

To whom it may concern,

Hello, my name is Varba, the petitioner for Peachey in a K-1 Fiancee immigration visa case number ####.

Peachey mailed the completed packet (K1 visa packet 3) to your offices on July 14th, 2009. According to our tracking number, it was received on July 17th, 2009.

Since that time, we have been anticipating a response in the form of a interview date.

We have been periodically calling the Department of State for an update, as to when our interview date would be, and to date we have always heard that there is no scheduled interview.

Today, the Department of State recommended that since our wait has been excessive, we should contact you directly via email and get an update on our interview status/date.

What is the status of our interview?

Can you provide an estimate on when the interview may be scheduled?

We look forward to your response.

Varba & Peachey

Peachy and Varba... that is ROCKING!!!! God some of us have to get moving, no???

I have a question... I called the NVC today and usually, they finish scheduling for the second week in the month it's now what... the 15th? They guy I spoke to ( he did sound like a bit of a knob) said to call back next week as Montreal wasn't done yet.

I presume that this was to get me to STFU and GTFO, right?

Seems they have added that to thier script to cut down on phone calls.

Ignore it.

The DoS told me very specifically that they have no ability to store notes or anything else about the case, so they can't flag it negatively if you call every 15 minutes. They don't even store who looks up the cases.

I think you call the same place I do... Might be the crazy in my brain talking though.. man my head is killing me.

Varba, keep on them about it. They told us the same thing when they said they would try to get us an interview in time for our planned wedding date...apparently soonest to them ment 2 months after the requested date and a month after our planned wedding. Definately hound them if you don't hear anything the end of this month!

That is good?

Good because it says "to be scheduled soonest" (whatever the hork that means)

But it is worded such that I'm getting increasingly paranoid that they aren't going to give any information to anyone by any means other than mail.

I've gotten a response from an OP before (OP5 to be specific) that said:

Not yet, you are currently on a waiting list.

Thank you.

That made my day, I knew at least I was on a list!

I'm very hopeful for you guys, I just don't want to see you guys get your hopes up super high to get crushed again (like I did when I got a similar email) When I emailed them in August they said I was on the list, that they had noted my early October wedding and that I was to be scheduled soonest for an interview. That all turned out to be a bunch of garbage. I really hope its not for you, especially with what they did to you last week, but I wanted to let you know they said the same thing to me...I think they just say it to get us off their backs (not that it worked once mid Sept rolled around and there was still no interview in sight)

This was my email to them in August

This is an inquiry to our case. We have recently returned the info packet for our K1 Visa. I wish to confirm receipt to your embassy of our package.

As well we do have a request if possible. Our wedding is scheduled for 1st week of Oct, and my fiance has time scheduled off of work for the event as well as to come up to Canada to escort me in my drive across country. As this was scheduled in advance it will not be easy to reschedule so we were hoping that we could request and interview date some time around or prior to the 15th of September. I understand that there are no guarantees, but if you could note our account, we would appreciate it.

Thank you in advance for your reply

And their reply

Please be advised that once we receive your paperwork your case will be placed on a waiting list for an appointment.

I have noted your file that you have an early October wedding and therefore will be scheduled soonest and advised

by mail of the appointment date. Thank you for your patience.
