I'd DEFINITELY go to Vancouver. It just makes sense to allow Vancouver to take even the 20% of the workload!... just SOMETHING. Not enough to make Vancouver really slow, but just something to even it out a little. This is just SO frustrating!

I'd probably fly to the other side of the country as well.

And I really need an interview before march.

I have a plane ticket I can use that's valid for a re-book within a year and it's useless at the end of March :(

This is such complete and utter BS. I can't believe its getting so bad that its a 6+ month wait now...theres NO excuse for that at all. Even though I have my interview I think I will write a letter as well explaining how completely horrible this is...some of us end up losing our jobs cuz of this, how unfair is it to make us wait forever! (Layoffs + boss knowing you are engaged and going to move eventually = shitty) plus theres all of you with your leases and such..I feel really bad for Americana, got time booked off and everything to be told "Oops, our bad". They need to be held accountable. Even if they opened TO or Ottawa to take on a bit of the overflow it would be better...or heres a wild and wacky idea...let the IR/CR1's in the western provinces go through VAN too? Cuts down on miserable travel for them and lightens MTL's load.

duno where this goes exactly, but it would be VERY helpful to be able to see timelines filtered by when P3 was sent back/received instead of just NOA2 date. I know filters aren't necessarily the simplest things to add.. but then, sometimes they are.

Also, it helps when people actually create and edit their timelines. they even designed an emoticon for it! :time:

If you moved to western Canada, would your file be moved from Montreal to Vancouver? I am being laid off at the end of Nov, and was hoping not to have to use too much of my severance package to support me here, as having the money for a wedding, AOS, and to help support us while I wait for EAD and find a job. All of my family lives in Alberta, so maybe it would be better to move out there at the end of Nov and wait for my interview in Vancouver. Would there be any drawbacks to this?

I believe you can do that, just have to let MTL know you are moving out west due to financial reasons and request your case be forwarded to the VAN consulate.

What do you guys think about writing letters to newspapers or radio shows? Seeing if anyone will pick up on the story? I might try that, but not sure it will do any good... But you never know who's reading or listening
