K-1 people waiting for interviews at Montreal

Its been 5 months since my interview and I still read this thread!

When I went for the interview the lady taking the paperwork had a glue stick on her desk and attached them to the necessary forms. And you definitely only need 5. 2 for the DS 156's (I photo for each copy) and then 3 for the medical. If you didn't attach a photo electronically to the DS 160, I believe you need an extra passport photo for that. And for the checklist where it says medical, just check the box. A lot of people wait. The old one said, "arrange for a medical" so you weren't REALLY lying right?

Had my interview-fabulous experience, minus the screaming children that were pretty much ignored by their (likely stressed) parents... I cursed not having my ipod. For those waiting, it all goes down WAY easier than you may anticipate. And I got my K-1, -all alone I might add-and was ok with that because of ALL of the help/information I've recieved on here... I was uber (over) prepared, and as such, it was super easy :)

re: the interview itself... the following took 4 hours total (90% of it waiting)

The long and short of it:

-go through security

-go up to the 19th floor in a freight elevator (seriously)

-wait in line

-get 2 deli ticket-esque papers with an alphabetical and numerical number (ex. mine was "C7"). They also give you a sheet of paper requesting your medical results., police cert., passport photos, passport, letter of support, letter of intent.

-wait

-when number is called, you give this stuff to the lady at the wicket

-I was then told to fill in the D-156 forms using the computer in the waiting room, followed by paying the cashier (in the waiting room) my $130.00.

-wait

-was called to go to a room

-dealt with the odd consulate fellow... the interview lasted all of 2 minutes. Some of it was factual, the rest was joking/sharing anecdotes re: our significant others, etc...

On that note, this interview was on Monday... I had stated my departure date is October 4th. Consulate dude told me I'd def. get my visa before that date... It's Friday and I'm beginning to trip out a bit about the arrival of my passport/visa shenanigans.

I'm in Ottawa-i.e. not far- right now waiting for it... any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks! I really want people who have upcoming interviews and stuff to know it's not that bad at ALL.

As I said, all info via this place had me more than prepared and confident. It's really a tonne of waiting, and if you have nothing to hide and everything's kosher, it pretty much ends up being an experience on par with dealing with border agents when you travel.

/agree

Daily trips to my filers' thread stopped once folks from halfway across the world were getting their interview dates mere days after having mailed back their P3.

Been three weeks since NOA2 and I still haven't received my packet in the mail.

At this rate, I'm thinking I'll see my interview halfway through next year. How can there be folks from JULY that don't have interviews scheduled, at the very least? Receive packet, look at case number, open calendar, look up next available date, call/write beneficiary informing of date. Seems simple enough...

01/08/2010 - Applied for SSN in maiden name.

01/09/2010 - Married! Officially a Missis.

01/19/2010 - Received SSN in mail.

02/10/2010 - Sent I-485/I-131/I-765 to Chicago.

02/19/2010 - NOA dates for all applications.

02/22/2010 - Received NOAs in mail.

02/23/2010 - Applied for SSN for married name.

03/04/2010 - Applied for Florida DL in married name.

03/09/2010 - Biometrics appointment.

04/18/2010 - AP received.

04/23/2010 - EAD approved.

04/27/2010 - AOS Interview at Orlando USCIS (decision pending).

04/28/2010 - Card production ordered!

05/03/2010 - EAD received.

05/03/2010 - Welcome letter received.

05/28/2010 - Green Card received in mail.

01/26/2012 - Mailed RoC packet to VSC.

01/30/2012 - NOA date on application.

02/01/2012 - Cheque cashed.

02/05/2012 - Received NOA in mail.

02/10/2012 - Touch.

02/24/2012 - ASC Appointment Notice dated.

02/27/2012 - ASC Appointment Notice received.

03/23/2012 - Biometrics appointment.

09/20/2012 - Touch. Card Production ordered!

09/21/2012 - Touch.

09/24/2012 - Touch. Card mailed.

You would think, but I think they need to keep dates available for other things. That's the only reason I can think of that they don't schedule right away.

I called DOS like 2 mins ago, the lady sounded SUPER tired, but she was very nice, saying I'm eligible but nothing scheduled :(
