I'm not sure you can request consulates, but if you move there's a form you fill out to get your case moved to a different consulate.

I called as well, and the Department of SLow does not have an interview for me yet. Maybe Thursday will be my lucky day when Danu calls :)

I'd be happy with just being given a date before I have to move out of this apartment.

I can't sign a new lease, since I can't break it.

And I'll be sending my P3 tomorrow.

Hoping it'll get there by the end of the week and logged sometime next week.

Yes, you put a consulate on your I-129F form, but if you put the "wrong" one, NVC sends it to the right one. So even if you put Vancouver, they would look at your address and send it to Montreal.

Yeah, or vice versa...I've seen a post that NVC sent a file to Montreal but was supposed to go to Vancouver.

Uh just for the record, you can't request a consulate that doesnt process for your area, so seeing as you have London, ON as your area on your profile it wouldnt have mattered if you put VAN as only montreal would have done it.

Spoom, you're in London? Me too! lol

Side note *hugs to Igg*

and... Those of you worrying about your lease renewals, have you checked with your landlords to see if they go month to month afterwards? Most places will do that, without having to sign on for an entire year. Maybe if you let them know what's happening they might let you stay the extra month or two if you need it?

I'm going to be without a place to stay in February. My roommates are having a baby and she's due on the 5th, so I'm out! LOL I really hope by then things will be in place to move, or i'll be moved and married by then.. cause damn.

The landlord that owns the property I live in was aware of my situation before I moved it...that this was temporary until I move to the U.S. My rent agreement was due beginning of August & when I called I asked her if we could do month by month...cause I know I won't be here till end of July. She agreed.

You guys should ask...if you're a good tennant they should be willing.

I sadly can't get it month by month.

It's either a year contract or nothing.

I really dont want to have to move back home after being by myself for 7 months :(

In fact, the landlord tenant act (in ontario anyway) says that after the year is up, the landlord can't force a tenant to move and the tenant is under no obligation to sign a new (one year) agreement, and with no agreement the tenancy is presumed to be month-to-month. also know that it's illegal to ask for post-dated cheques or secure any other "guarantee" of payment into the future.

i have to break my lease, i signed a 2 year lease :bonk: and so I decided because I could move with my parents until I can actually enter the US, I would have a better chance of finding a replacement (assignment) for November than in the middle of winter.

But I was also hoping for an October interview and being able to move directly out of this apartment to the US. guess not.

Yeah don't forget about the weekend! So it should be at your place soon :)

That's true..since it was mailed out on Friday afternoon, it probably didn't get picked up by the mail man until Monday morning.

I guess I'll just wait until tomorrow!

Sometimes I wish Canada Post is like USPS and delivers mail on Saturdays...

Tina

You'd think it would be to TO quick, but mine took almost 2 weeks. Who knows!

would be useful to know what province you're in..

yeah i don't really want to move back with parents, it'll suck. plus fiance is coming to get my cats so i won't even have them for support. but i kind of have to. so i will, because it makes sense.

is your landlord insisting on a year lease?
