I think they close for lunch, so I would just keep trying. I just pressed 1 and then 0, that's correct!

I'm jealous - Having a Wednesday date kind of sucks, although I think we're just going to extend the weekend from Sat-Wed - I was just hoping for only having to take 1-2 days off work and not use all my vacation, but I guess 3 days isn't so bad either.

Good luck!!

I don't mind using up my vacation days cause I can't cash them out anyway and I want to make sure I use my yearly allowance before I quit.

Another good thing about this time of year is that the hotels are dirt cheap -- I found a bunch on Expedia that were downtown for around $90 a night.

My fiance found some 4 star for $60 on hotwire... you don't know what you get, but generally its always good. We always use hotwire... and for $60 you can't go wrong, check it out!!

hey guys...just got back from Montreal...My interview was on the Feb 11,2009 and I was approved!!! It was a big relief...

I was at the Consulate door at 7 am, there was no one but me when I got there. I was just lucky that the weather was nice, it was +4 I think. After about 20 minutes people started showing up,there were 5 of us waiting outside.Around 7:35 they opened the door. They asked for the appointment letter and passport. I was expecting the worst from the security ( due to previous experience in U.S. Consulate in Toronto) but I was surprised that they were nice, so I thought the whole day was gonna go with me. I was prepared for the inspection thingy because I've read a lot about it in this forum. (thanks for the good people in VJ). The security guy even asked me 3 times if I have a cellphone with me because most of the people that goes there have one and I have to say no 3 times  So, they gave us a list of the papers we have to put in order. After few minutes, one of the security guy (a nice one) scorted us at the 9th floor. We were instructed to sit and wait. While we were waiting I got to chat with one lady who's there for K1 interview too, I asked her if she knew Visa Journey, and she said she didn't. I gave her the website and told her that it would help her a lot. At around 8:15, I was called at window 12, the lady asked for my birth certificate and a copy, my passport but didn't asked for a photocopy of it, (although I have one with me), she also asked for affidavit of support and evidence,DS156K and asked me to go to the cashier and pay. She told me,I can leave my things in the room. When I came back, she took my fingerprints and asked me to sit and wait outside the room.

At about 9am, I was called at window 7, the lady asked me to close the door for a little privacy. She made me raise my right hand and she began to say something, I didn't understand a thing because I was beginning to be nervous, all I remember was I said " I do" after she was done. Hell, I was saving that for my wedding! Anyways, she gave back my original birth certificate ..she asked me about how we've met, I told her we were introduce by a friend 8 years ago, and she said "oh, so you've known each other for a while." And then she asked what my fiance does, what i do, and asked for some latest pics. I showed her the pics and she said "Everybody goes to Niagara Falls" That was pretty much it. She just asked me if i am able to go to the U.S. before March 22, because my medical results are only valid before then,( I had it done at Seiden's in Sept 22 ,2008) otherwise I have to do another medical exam. I said I'm planning to fly next week and she said "great". i was out there at 9:20.

It was painless and easy, nothing like I thought it would be...but when I got to my hotel, I noticed I still have my passport pics with me...then I tried to recall andthey didn't ask for it. You guys think, they just forgot to ask for it?Is there somebody here who wasn't asked for the passport pics?

Good luck to everyone who are next in line!!! :P
