I'm probably not even going to bother with Montreal until the end of the month.

I'm sort of expecting Packet 3 maybe by the end of the week, but otherwise I probably wont bug them till the 29th or 30th.

I guess I should stop bugging Montreal so much, eh?

Rhiann, I think we're a day apart in terms of Montreal receiving, so hopefully we'll get logged at around the same time!

To be honest, the best thing to do (as IMPOSSIBLE as it may be) is to do just that. Don't do anything for at least a week. I think we checked once every 8-10 days. Otherwise, I was driving myself and others around me CRAZY! lol But, they all understood why, and dealt with my neuroses. BAH! Seriously though, plan to check every 8-10 days. That way, when it does happen, or hear about someone else around your time frame, you'll be SUPER EXCITED and HAPPY! In fact, that's what happened to me. I was checking every 8-10 days and someone who turned her paperwork in the day before me emailed me to call... b/c she got an interview date when she called that day. So, seriously, check once a week... you'll be more sane and even happier when you find out. :)

Ugh, I've gotten really nervous all of the sudden about this stuff.

I hate having to explain on the paperwork why I was denied at the border.

I mean, I'm sure lots of people get denied for not having the right visa like I did to go to the US, marry and adjust status... but I still freak about it anyway.

I know previous denials don't affect it, and now I'm actually doing it right, but I still get so scared about it.

I keep reading my removal notice over and over to see what it says.

Does anyone know if what's on the paper is the only thing in the computer about the POE denial?

I'm curious to know if the first POE officer types stuff into the computer that you didn't get to know about and sign about.

Does anyone have any advice for the picture portion of the DS-160?

I scanned in one of my US passport photos and it's 2 x 2 inches and wont accept it.

Do we HAVE to attach it or can we give it at the interview?

I had trouble with mine, submitted it without the pic, emailed Montreal and they said just to bring an extra photo to the interview.

Danu for sure, she sent her packet 3 four days before me. I'm sure there's a couple more, and some CR-1/IR-1 people who've had their cases complete in July.

I think there may be a couple K1''s from June still waiting, and I think dome is the only July who has gotten one so far (other than Inky who was expedited).

Whatever you told the POE officer will probably be in the computer file for your denial. As long as you weren't doing anything wrong, you are OK. Just be honest at the interview if they ask what it was all about and you will be OK. I don't know your particular case, but if you have any documents that show proof of what happened, then I would bring those, just in case. You might need to back up that what you are saying is the truth.

Hi guys!

I received my NOA2 email back on August 27th. I then was told by NVC that they were sending out my approval notice to Montreal on September 2nd/3rd. I am still waiting on getting packet 3 in the mail. Should I call, or do you think I'm still within the norm?

Thanks,

Giulia

I am totally wondering how it all works over in all these govt. offices. How do they pick who goes first or in whatever order it is they do it in? Is it a case by case thing where some people's cases are more straightforward?

Hey everyone!

So I filled out and submitted another DS 160 form and printed out the confirmation. What confuses me still is that on the side bar, they explained "nationality" as the place where you were born. I originally put Taiwan, but when I asked Montreal they said it should have been Canadian? Anyway, I filled it out with Canadian. The other little issue was the receipt number. When I asked Montreal, they said it should be the USCIS receipt number. Yet, I have seen some people on VJ put the NVC number. Again, one form has the USCIS number, and the other has the NVC number. Should I just bring both confirmations and the e-mails from Montreal to back them up? Thanks!

Tina
