Spoom, I wouldn't expect it until November unless they start processing people like crazy.

Planned wedding date of January 23, 2010: Should I just start rescheduling everything now?

That's how I feel. I want mine on January 10th. I'll be quite heartbroken if I don't get it actually... it has a number of different reasons behind it. January 23rd was one of my backup dates... February 20th is my last-resort type of date... I REALLY don't want to get married in February though... this is so frustrating... :crying:

Wait till you get your interview date... But that's kinda cutting it close.

People are starting to get their interviews again on VJ, maybe it'll pick up!

Hey Peachey...

Wouldn't it be great if they just started processing people like crazy? I would love that. I know I'm on a different visa route but it would be nice to see some serious movement from Montreal.

Right now? I think they're a**hats for being so useless.

/rant

I called and asked for a specific day to get my medical done and they were fine with it. Was about a week and a half after I called.

I was there for about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

peachey, did you get packet 4 yet? any news?

No :(

I don't think Danu has yet either and she sent her packet 3 a couple days before me.

Spoom, I wouldn't expect it until November unless they start processing people like crazy.

Ok, so after many calls and after many transfers from one department to another, I finally got the Immunizations in Toronto Public Health (for those who went to high school in Toronto). They will send me my record. For those in the same boat, the number to call is 416-392-1250.

I'm just looking at DS-230, and I have a couple of questions:

1. Are they treating the fiance as the spouse?

2. Address of spouse would be the same as the one I intend to live, right?

3. What if we don't know the date of marriage?

4. Not sure what to put for 31(a) and 31(B)

Thanks so much!

Tina

no, he's not your spouse yet, so put 'N/A', especially since you'll be marking your martial status as single. That whole section of Qs 14-18 does not apply.

31 is if you have children or other family members that are coming with you. If there are none, put N/A.

At least, that's how I've interpreted it and that's how I filled it out.

Thanks, and did you list all of the previous visits to the US? How far does that have to go back?

Also, in terms of educational institutions, I went to school in Canada starting from Junior high, so do I have to list that, too? These questions are so ambiguous as to how far to go back

It may be close but I think you'll be alright. 5 months to wait for an interview would be pretty extreme, even for Montreal.

I wondered the same thing. I just put high school and college, since they ask for diploma/degree and course of study (I made one up for high school based on what classes I liked best... LOL)

Yeah, I think putting high school and university sounds better. What did you put for the times you travelled or resided in the US? Do they allow you to use extra pages if we crossed the border more than three times?

Also, for the affidavit of support, what do we fill out for the consulate? I-864 or I-134? It says something about NVC requiring I-864 or and I-134 for USCIS??

Immigration is so confusing...............

Don't know if it's the same for a K1, we're on a CR1 but sounds like it -- for my trips to the US, I wrote "please see attached form" and then on a separate paper, listed all of my trips to the US. 36 in total, I believe. Just made sure to write the question number and our case number at the top and bottom of the sheet.

Hope this helps.

Do they allow you to use extra pages if we crossed the border more than three times?

since we have known eachother for 10 years, we have visited COUNTLESS times. i used an extra page to give approximate visits for the last 3 years. told them it was approximate. explained how long we had been visiting and offered to try and furnish extra dates if needed (which i sincerely doubt they will need).

AOS

05.17.10 - I-485/I-765 mailed

05.25.10 - NoA

06.25.10 - biometrics appt

07.02.10 - emailed that our case is moved to CSC!

07.14.10 - touched

07.21.10 - touched

08.03.10 - approved for EAD

08.05.10 - uscis mailed out EAD

08.09.10 - EAD received!

01.05.11 - a ###### RFE over 6 ###### months after the fact

02.01.11 - touched

02.14.11 - APPROVED (finally)!

02.25.11 - received green card in the mail

DONE WITH USCIS FOR 2 YEARS!

(thank christ)
