Hi everyone,

I'm just trying to be prepared. For those who did their medical in Toronto, how long does it take to make an appointment and how long were you there? Also, do we need to have all of those vaccinations the Department of State lists on their website? I'm just asking because I don't even know where to look for those records.

Any help will be great!

Tina

my medical is tomorrow in toronto. its about a month wait for appointments now i think. i'll probably write a review when i get back in a few days.

as for the vaccinations, i freaked out too. http://www.panelphysicians.com/Pages/Immunizations.htm

go to that website, find your age group and those are what you need to have. i'm on the fence about gardasil because i'll be 27 by the interview time but i'm 26 now so i'm wondering what they'll say.

to find your vaccination records, either your family doctor or the health unit for the region in which you attended highschool ( if in ontario) i'm not sure for outside ontario

hope this helps

missa

Thanks for your input, everyone! I was wondering if someone can also let me know what the Packet 3 for Montreal consulate look like. Are we allowed to fill out forms ahead of time, except for the fact that we'll have to fill out the NVC case number on it, too? Finally, if I don't have packet 3 yet, will I still be able to get the police clearance?

Many thanks!

Tina

From what I've read, they don't send forms anymore.

Take a look at this topic, it has a scan of the letter from Montreal listing the paperwork needing done:

Yes, you can fill them out ahead of time. And you can get your police clearance without any visa paperwork (people get police clearances all the time for a variety of reasons... they'll ask you why you're getting it, but you won't need to prove it).

Great, thanks! What about the one that I fill out online? Do I fill that one and send electronically before the interview date?

yep! That's the DS160. you do that one and print off the confirmation page, and application if you can (it will give you the opportunity to print after you submit it). Send it back with your packet 3 stuff.

Be aware that it asks for a passport type photo to upload with the 'form'. I didn't know that until I did it, but I luckily had a scanned copy of the one I sent with the I-129F. If you don't have one on your computer you might want to play around with a webcam to get one, or get a passport photo (you'll need them anyway) and scan one.

No :(

I don't think Danu has yet either and she sent her packet 3 a couple days before me.

Spoom, I wouldn't expect it until November unless they start processing people like crazy.
