So, according to my tracking number with Canada Post, they received my Packet 3 package this morning. When should I start calling??

lol. in 2 months. Blech. Don't forget it can still take up to 2-3 weeks for them to even log your packet.

How can I tell when they've logged it? I assume by calling?

Yep when you call then can tell you if they logged your file. I'd wait at least a week.

I'd start calling in 3 weeks! You never know when Montreal will suddenly pick up the pace. Back in the spring there were a couple people who waited less than a month. Its really really unlikely, but weirder things have happened.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to mention to everyone the hotel we stayed in for our interview in Montreal in case anyone is looking for one. We stayed at The Daupin Hotel on Rue de Bleury. This hotel is a small, quiet one and is a 5 minute walk to the consulate. They have computers IN THE ROOM with free Internet! Also, there is a refrigerator in the room too, which is great if you want to save some money instead of eating out all of the time. No microwave in the room, but they have one on the ground floor for use. They also have a flat screen TV with DVD player in the room and a small work out room on the 6th floor. They also have a free continental breakfast in the morning from 6 to 10AM. The bed is very, very firm, lol, but it was actually more comfortable to sleep on than I thought. Overall, I do recommend this hotel.

I wouldn't until you get your P3, as you need the letter from it to show at the medical to prove that you are going through the consulate. Both the medical and police check are good for a year so you can get them done any time after you have the letter

You can get your police check without the letter, if you want to go ahead and do that now. It's also good for a year (so I've heard).

I wouldn't entirely set your heart on Nov/Dec... it'll still be probably 3 weeks by the time Montreal gets your stuff and sends you packet 3, then you'll have to wait to hear from them about the interview which has been taking a long time lately. I'd expect somewhere more like Dec-Feb. Always better to figure you'll get it later than sooner... cause sooner doesn't seem to be happening.

Side note.. every time I see someone update, I keep hoping it's an update to say they've got an interview... nope.

Hi everyone,

I'm just trying to be prepared. For those who did their medical in Toronto, how long does it take to make an appointment and how long were you there? Also, do we need to have all of those vaccinations the Department of State lists on their website? I'm just asking because I don't even know where to look for those records.

Any help will be great!
